So far as I can tell, this episode was called "The Gunfighter", not "The Gunslinger". Seems to be a mistake a lot of people are making, but Raylan Givens ain't Roland Deschain. I would love to be of more help, but I've gotta get back to watching women's tennis.

The Walking Dead: "Save The Last One," But Take Your Time Doing It.
I would describe this episode as "Still weak, but better." The awkward writing marred any attempt at depth or thematic insight ("He talked about the deer! He talked about the deer!... ugh) but at least they actually tried. Lost girl's mother is still annoying and useless, but Andrea was shockingly tolerable this episode. There's still lots of little bits of illogic, but not as many as the past few times ...

The Walking Dead's "Bloodletting" Episode Featured a Lot Less of it Than You'd Probably Like.
The pace is not the root of the issue here. The real problem with this show is that the characters have been and continue to be dogshit. If the characters were interesting, the pace wouldn't be an issue. But they aren't, so it is. Without zombie's to distract us, there's really nothing there.And whoo boy, the writing sure isn't doing them any favors.

The explosion scene made me jump out of my seat and release a strange mix of "Whoah!", "Oh god!" and "Jesus!" all at the same time. Then the Two-Face shot happened seconds later and I did the same thing again. Sure, it's unrealistic, but this show has been surreal right from the very beginning, and such a supervillain-like character deserved a badass exit like that.Also, great music throughout the whole ...

Season one is maybe the best single season of a network drama that I've ever seen. It's awesome, awesome, awesome. Network pressures made season two kinda crappy, but then season three brought it back. Still need to watch four and five.

Mad Men's pilot does feel like it's running down a great big list of '60s social stereotypes. As much as I think the opening scene is wonderful and a perfect atmosphere-setter, having a black guy talk to Don about tobacco before chuckling "Ladies love their magazines!" is about as overt as it gets.
