Not a worldwide televised event like the Academy Awards, Grammy's etc ... But when the Met Gala arrives, the whole Fashion world bows down in its glory. Each year has a specific theme, and this years was Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. It's a chance for the worlds hottest designers to bring their celebrity friends dressed in gorgeous new clothes and basically show them off at a walking museum.
January Jones in Atelier Versaci
January glowed on the carpet, looking beautiful in this Spring-sensible yellow dress, unleashing her inner X-Woman. The colour is perfect for the season and that necklace is stunning, it gives a nice break from all that yellow. Hair is perfectly styled and the pointed hip accents give her an incredible hourglass figure. She's never looked better!
Renee Zellweger in Emilio Pucci
I've never seen Renee look as good as she did! the sheer dress is so on-trend right now, and the sheer cutouts give her a great figure. While the dress can be considered plain, the train at the back makes it ore exciting. That, combined with those beautiful earrings make it a killer outfit.
Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe
I am in love with this look. From head to toe! This was definitely the most dramatic look of the night. The metallic fabric looked gorgeous on her statuesque figure and the matching turban is stunning. She took a risk and it definitely payed off. KK looks flawless!
Beyonce Knowles in Givenchy
The gossip blogs are raving about Beyonce in this theatrical Givenchy dress, often naming her the best dressed of the night. While I don't think she should earn that title, I am pleased that B took a risk and considering she's recently give birth (as we all know, the tabloids won't let us forget it) her body looks ah-mazing. From the neck up, I'm in love; her face, the make-up, the hair is all perfection while I think this dress is a bit of a mess.
Florence Welch in Alexander McQueen
The angelic singer channelled the spirit of Christmas in McQueen. Florence is known for her eccentric choice of fashion and so it's no surprise she wore this tier, layered dress. The Met Gala is a great place to be as crazy as you want and well, Florence, the whole world can finally see just how cray-cray you are!
Chloe Sevigny in Miu Miu
I gotta say, I kinda like Chloe's outfit .. or, lack of outfit should I say. It is a risky, cooky look, but I guess you gotta be a very confident person to rock it. I like the shoes, metallic is very in this season. The hair and make-up are both pretty. Not loving that clutch bag though.
Elizabeth Banks in Mary Kantrantzou
I'm 100% against matching prints, which is somehow becoming a trend in Hollywood. I sure hope it's a trend that goes quickly and can leave these poor starlets alone! I like her make-up, but this outfit is ridiculous, There's way too much going on and far too much fabric. It's unflattering and I hope she burned this disastrous outfit after the Gala.
Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga
Hm ... I'm sure you can probably notice a similarity between this and Banks ... yep. MIXING PATTERNS. God, another hideous outfit on a pretty girl. It's a shame. Kristen is normally so stylish, she also showed off her whole, freakishly long killer legs. I guess it's a nice break from the super-short mini-dresses she wears, but I'd much rather see her in one of them than this nightmare.
The beautiful 'Video Games' singer looked very gothic in this metallic dress, combined with a very chic cape. Although she didn't have the same effect as Gwynnie, she tried. I like and appreciate the look she was going for, but the metallic just does not work with the cape. Although she's a rising star, I'm sure her style will certainly improve in coming events.
The beautiful blonde bombshell looked gorgeous in this Zac Posen gown. The make-up was flawless and that colour suits her very well. Although the dress itself is pretty boring and unoriginal, she still looks great.
The Vampire Diaries' star looked so pretty in this dramatic dress. The combination of metallic and black makes an impressive impression, slightly haunting and with that beautiful simplistic make-up, emphasises her beauty.
