@AaronG: I actually think it worked well as a setup for the group dynamic going into season 3. People trusted Rick's decisions because they were able to survive without constant danger at the farm for almost an entire season. When that plan was proven to be weak by major attack, the group essentially (and literally) split apart in just one episode. There were even several lines to prove that point ...

@Beaudacious: I agree. There always seems to be a tendency to blur those distinctions, mostly out of ignorance. The context of current political affairs always needs to be considered. Especially with films like this, which clearly appear to be making a sociopolitical statement.
@Llewelyn: While being rather shallow and not particularly good, Hitch was a decent example of an interracial relationship onscreen. That's an example for Will Smith as well, but Mendes obviously isn't white. I see what you are saying with that though. It's kind of strange how long it takes for these shifts to ripple even through current pop culture.
