13. The Ring
I always enjoy a good horror flick, but rarely does one psychologically affect me in such a way. On the surface, The Ring is a very well made remake of a Japanese classic. But in my case, it's alot more than that. Following my first viewing of the film, I spent a good couple of weeks sleeping with the light on, the TV facing the wall (this was before HD so static television was still a thing) and the door firmly closed. Sure, I was 13 at the time... but that cold, dark image of Samara continues to haunt me to this day. |
