General Discussion » Thomas Jane made a Punisher fan film.

I'm not sure if anyone over here has been paying to Comic-Con but a small panel for RAW Studios, actor Thomas Jane unveiled a Punisher fan film he made entitled Dirty Laundry. Jane is a big fan of The Punisher and starred as the character in that sub-par movie from 2004. Since then Marvel Studios has gotten the rights back for the character and I wouldn't be surprised if they now asked Thomas Jane about reprising the role if they choose to make another Punisher film. I warn anyone ahead of time that this fan film he made is insanely graphic. Don't click the video if you don't want to see some of that stuff but otherwise I can't recommend this enough.

General Discussion » RIP Andy Griffith (Sheriff Andy Taylor)

I'm genuinely sad about his death. I live in North Carolina and have been to Mount Airy which Mayberry was based on. Andy Griffith was truly one of the greatest entertainers of all time and I've wanted to meet the man for sometime but now I'll never get the chance. On the Andy Griffith Show the characters never seemed like characters, they seemed like real people who invited you into their lives and homes every week.

General Discussion » Marvel owns the Silver Screen

I really hope Man of Steel will be the catalyst for a DC Movie Universe. Although I seriously doubt a DC Movie Universe will be any good because Warner Bros won't use any of the in house talent DC has like Lauren Montgomery or Bruce Timm. They need someone who can "Shepherd" the movie universe like Kevin Feige and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As for Marvel oversaturating the market I can agree. I like Marvel's films but at the rate they're pumping them out it's just tiring. They're all good movies but it feels like there is too many of them.

The Dark Knight Rises » It might make more than the Avengers

It'll sell a lot of tickets but it won't make what The Avengers made. Nolan's Batman films don't have the wide appeal that The Avengers did. The Avengers was the kind of the film you could even take kids to see but The Dark Knight Rises isn't and that's going to impact the box office numbers for the film.

General Discussion » Which Genre Do You to Make a Comeback?

Westerns. The cowboy was once a symbol of America and I grew up loving cowboys. The cowboy has almost completely disappeared from the pop culture lexicon and I think it's about time he made a comeback. Hopefully Disney's The Lone Ranger won't be another John Carter style flop for them (even though they're making a fortune off home video sales).

Thor » Netflix Instant

I rewatched I and really loved it a second time around. I didn't like that much the first time for some reason though. Thor has never been and never will be a favorite character of mine but this film made me appreciate the character a little more.

Off-Topic » So long and thanks for all the fish.

I honestly don't have any real problems with the site currently. Sure I miss how the site was but I don't think Stacey (that is how I spell it right.) is doing a bad job. She's no Rorie or Alex and I'd still kind of like to know where the sites going but for now I'm content with it.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! » Spider-Man to appear later this season.

@FinalDasa:

It's a shame some plot points will never be answered and that will never see a crossover with Wolverine and The X-Men because that show takes place in the same universe ( the Christopher Yost Animated Universe). If Avengers EMH were to continue I'm sure they would have explained how the X-Men fit into the larger picture but sadly that won't happen.

@MrMazz:

I don't even understand why Marvel is trying so hard to be super kid-friendly when comic book fans make up the majority of the audience who watch their shows. They don't seem to understand that DC had numerous great shows that kids could watch but the majority of the audience were comic book fans but both kids and CB fans could enjoy them just fine. Also nice avatar. Grown up Sokka is awesome.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! » Spider-Man to appear later this season.

According to comments on Facebook from Josh Keaton who voiced Spider-Man on the popular Spectacular Spider-Man from a little while back, he recorded several episodes of The Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes as Spider-Man but was later dubbed over by Drake Bell. Bell currently voices the character on the unpopular Ultimate Spider-Man show and for some reason Marvel Television decided he need to replace Josh Keaton as the character on EMH. Of course that decision was probably made by the new head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb. So what are your thoughts on this change?

X-Men: Days of Future Past » Going to Days of Future Past

Never read any X-men comics but I am familiar with the story of Days of Future Past and I think it could be a neat way to reconcile the two timelines (X-Men-X-Men Origins and the new timeline set up in First Class).

General Discussion » Damon Lindelof to rewrite World War Z

Ordinarily a writer being hired to do rewrites is not newsworthy but since World War Z will have 7-9 weeks on re-shoots one has to wonder what is so wrong with the film that it needs to be rewritten before reshoots and have over a month of reshoots. Rewrites generally occur during the production of a film and reshoots generally don't last beyond beyond two weeks but this film has already completed production (or at least it had until the massive amount of re-shoots were announced). Presumably to accommodate the time needed to complete reshoots and complete post-production the release date was changed from sometime during December of this year to June 21, 2013. So what does everyone else think about the bizarre situation that this film in? Is this a sign that the film so far is terrible or does it mean something else? Source: The Hollywood Reporter

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! » Avengers:EMH cancelled

I used to really like Jeph Loeb but his recent decisions are just extremely puzzling to me. As a comic book writer he should understand that fans don't want self contained stories and more importantly he should understand that the majority of people who watch The Avengers: EMH are comic book fans not kids. Kids watch the show but I'm fairly certain the show is watched mainly by comic book fans. I'm fairly certain this show is going to be set in the same universe as Ultimate Spider-Man so expect this to be a kid friendly show that talks down to kids. Loeb should look at what Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett, and James Tucker did with Justice League and then apply that to Marvel Animation. Kids watched the show but they knew as producers that fans made up the majority of the audience. Why Loeb doesn't get that is still a mystery to me.

General Discussion » Justice League film now has a writer as does Wonder Woman

Good choices, although I personally would go with Gina Carano.

She was my original choice for Wonder Woman but I've heard she can't really act so I found another actress.

General Discussion » Justice League film now has a writer as does Wonder Woman

With the amazing success Marvel has enjoyed with The Avengers, Warner Bros is quickly trying to catch up and create their own franchise to rival Marvel's. That franchise of course is Justice League. Warner Bros. has attempted to make a Justice League film in the past but ended up shelving right before it went into production but they're trying again by hiring writer Will Beal to craft an entirely new script for the film. Wanting to go the way Marvel did and do solo films first leading into Justice League, they have now hired Michael Goldenberg to write a Wonder Woman film. Goldenberg may be familiar to some of you as the co-writer of Green Lantern. Goldenberg was only co-writer on Green Lantern so don't think he doesn't know what he's doing because he actually has some good writing credits to his name (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix).

I hope DC and Warner Bros. can make a good Justice League film but as of now I doubt we'll ever see it make it to the screen because they've hired other writers in the past for a Justice League film and so far none of those ever saw the light of day again. As for Wonder Woman I'm excited to see her come to the big screen as I think she deserves a big screen movie as being one of DC's oldest heroes. As to who should play her, I have to say Lynn Collins (John Carter) or Bridget Regan (Legend of the Seeker). Out of the two though my number one choice would have to be Lynn Collins. I thought she was great in John Carter as Dejah Thoris and I think she could be an even Wonder Woman. She may be 35 but I can't a better actress for the role. So what does everyone else think?

General Discussion » Black Panther may be one of the 2 unannounced Marvel films.

According to Latino Reviewone of the two unannounced Marvel Studios films will be based on Black Panther. LR says they got their information from four trusted sources and LR is the site that broke news about Thanos in The Avengers. Assuming this is true then I am very happy because I have been wanting to see the Black Panther get his own for a while now because he is really a lot more interesting than some of the other Avengers we've seen so far. As to who I think should play him, I have to say Michael Jai White whom many of you should as Spawn in that Spawn movie from the 90's that nobody remembers anymore because if memory serves me correct it was terrible.

Iron Man 3 » Another villain revealed?

James Badge Dale is playing a character in the comics I believe is called Coldblood but I don't think they're using that name as evidenced by these photos. The main villain is Guy Pearce's character and the Mandarin (played by Ben Kingsley) will also be a villain but I don't think he's going to have a huge role in the film.
