this is the list of films, that I see for the first time, in 2012. so it doesn't count repeats. (if it did, you'd see Fight Club and Revolver about a hundred times)

1. The Guard
Fun movie. I strive to have the bluntness and strength of dialogue that Sgt. Boyle is blessed with. This straight faced raunchy comedy is incredible. |
2. Hugo
The child actor ride is enjoyable because of the great performances by Ben Kingsley and other surprising cameos. |
3. The Grey
Full of one liners and Liam Neeson being a bad ass. What more could you ask for? |
4. OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies
The most pure silliness I've see in a film. |
5. Tangled
Average children's Disney film. This one was light on the music, heavy on the physical humor. |
6. Chronicle
This was basically my dream of having super powers in motion picture format. Only in my dreams I don't have an emotionally unstable friend. |
7. See This Movie
Starting to catch up on Starz movies going off Netflix Instant. Funny movie, you can tell how low budget it is, but that's half the fun. |
8. Mallrats
After much staring at this movie being at the front on my Instant queue for a couple of months now, I'm kicking myself for waiting til now to see it. |
9. Big Trouble in Little China
This is probably going to be an instant purchase next time I see the DVD in a store. It has the right mix of action and silliness. |
10. Orgazmo
Pure insanity, but I love it! |
11. The Troll Hunter
A serious(ly) funny movie that didn't take itself to seriously. The CG was a little too cartoony for the mise en scene the film was trying to convey. |
12. The Woman in Black
This is my first scary movie in a while (I'm no ta huge fan of the genre) but this movie was pretty creepy, in a good way. |
13. Zu Warriors from the Magic Mountain
Fantastic piece of Hong Kong cinema. The special effects rival that of T2 (which came out ten years later) |
14. Chasing Amy
This was a great film, Ben Affleck didn't make me want to punch him, so it's got that going for it. |
15. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
The most literally laugh out loud of all the Kevin Smiths I've seen. |
16. Fire in the Sky
This is a super cheesy movie, poor writing, and I just couldn't see Robert Patrick as anything other that a murderous T1000. |
17. The Avengers
Great comedy/action flick. It was just unfortunate that the screening I saw it in was 50% viewers under the age of 6. |
18. Machete
The quotes on the back of the DVD case were just as fantastic as the movie, "...full of Carnage Asada..." |
19. Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade
this movie reminds me not to take video games so seriously |
20. Ted
funny movie, but it's a little obvious that Seth McFarlane has only one style of humor |
21. Goon
good nonstop ball buster, can make you uneasy if watching with parents (I made that mistake) |
22. Source Code
great movie, went places I didn't think it would and I loved it |
23. F/X
great story, poor acting |
24. John Carter
Strange start and ending but the middle bits are good |
25. Best Worst Movie |
26. Dead Space: Downfall |
27. The Omega Man |
28. Method |
29. Network |
30. Downfall |
