Demp (Level 21)

I had heard a lot of good buzz about Blood and Bone. I had some friends of mine talk it up pretty good and I even read some good things about it on the internet, so I decided that I was eventually gonna watch it. Well, that came tonight as I decided to make it the 3rd movie in my (30) Movies of Summer thingy. Plus I had a kinda shitty day at work and i just wanted to watch dudes punch other dudes. But I digress... 
 
I wasn't really expecting much, but I was at least gonna give it a fair shot and at least I was gonna get some cool fights out of it, right?  
 
Ehhhhhhh. As a whole, I just found the movie kinda boring. Even the fight scenes weren't that hot. Don't get me wrong, I like Michael Jai White. He's a damn fine martial artist (as we all saw in Black Dynamite) but I just didn't find many of the fights that entertaining. Each fight may have lasted upwards of a minute, tops. Don't get me started on the last two fights against the "bosses" of the movie. The first one I almost fell asleep on and the last one was just ridiculous, and not in a good way.  Also, the less said about the main story of the film, the better. 
  
I just wanted to turn off my brain for 90 minutes and watch Michael Jai White kick some ass.  Ah well. I didn't flat out hate the movie, but I wouldn't watch it again. 2 out of 5
