1. Jaws
Jaws is the film that got me interested in cinema. I'll never forget the impact the film had on my ten year old self. It was the film that introduced me to Steven Spielberg, and having just celebrated the 35th anniversary of its release, it seems like the perfect time for Robert Shaw's USS Indianapolis speech to be rendered in HD bliss. |

2. Platoon
OK, someone please correct me if there is an actual Blu-Ray edition of this film floating around somewhere. Amazon lists it as a product, but has no release date or box art available, only an e-mail alert system that notifies users when it will be available. There's no real reason other than personal preference as to why I think this should be on Blu-Ray, but the fact that it's Oliver Stone's greatest picture (and my favorite of all time) has got to count for something, right? It turns 25 next year, and like with Jaws, I think we'll see a release somewhere around holiday 2011. |

3. Scarface
The symbol for 1980's excess that was Scarface lends itself perfectly to the Blu-Ray format. If nothing else, Scarface has one of the greatest and most memorable final scenes in film history, and I'd love to see the colorful Miami landscapes in HD clarity. |

4. Pulp Fiction
This one is really a matter of principle. How is this not yet on Blu-Ray? Granted, I'm one of the few who thinks Reservoir Dogs was Tarantino's best picture (Pulp Fiction coming a close second mind you) but when you have a film that's as beloved by the masses as Pulp Fiction is it leads you to wonder why it wasn't one of the first titles to be converted. |

5. Taxi Driver
I don't think I have to explain myself for this one. |
