1. Quentin Tarantino
Director: It was either him or Robert Rodriquez, and I don't trust Robert with his onslaught of family films. No. Let a modern master come in and follow up the mastery of Spielberg. If there's anybody that can add their own unique touch to this without seeming like much of a remake, it's this guy. Plus, I want to see him do a monster movie. |

2. Jake Gyllenhaal
Martin Brody: A little young, but I like his everyman qualities. He's like Tom Welling, but you know, good. See Zodiac for proof. A little young maybe, but he's a guy that can play a character just wanting to do the right thing, despite the fact that he's pretty much in over his head. I think he can do it. |

3. Maggie Gyllenhaal
Ellen Brody: Incestuous maybe, but also kind of right. The character of Ellen Brody is a deeper character then most give her credit for, and I think Maggie could give the character that depth. What is that depth exactly? I don't know, but I never took Mrs. Brody at face value. There was something darker under there... |

4. Adam Scott
Matt Hooper: Able to play of the scientist aspect and the comedy aspect perfectly. Plus, I just like Adam. |
5. Mel Gibson
Quint: You heard me. Get a beard on the man, have him use his natural accent, let the crazy ensue. Yeah, it's pretty inspired if I do say so myself. |
6. Edward James Olmos
Mayor Vaughn: The character is the character that is responsible for every character in every disaster/monster movie that followed where a figure in charge doesn't heed the warnings of the protagonist for the sake of profit. Olmos can play this role, and actually be likable doing it. |
7. Megan Fox
Christine Watkins: Yeah, you want to see her be eaten by a shark. Admit it. Plus, maybe we'll actually be able to get some nudity out of her. |
8. Michael Giacchino
Music: The king of subtle scores right now, this man can reinvent John Williams score like nobody else could, making it his own while still paying tribute to the old one. |
