1. Ghost in the Shell
A great film, but tonally a very different piece from the original manga, as all traces of humor are removed in making way for Mamoru Oshii's penchant for philosophizing. |

2. X
Plot? Character? What? This adaptation of the CLAMP manga stripped away characterization and all but the most base exposition for the sake of creating a pure action film. Visually, it's a gorgeous display of apocalyptic violence, but otherwise it's devoid of substance. |

3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III
While none of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films are particularly faithful to the original comic books, the first movie is still a fairly dark, watchable classic, and the second arguably skates by on its cheese factor. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III not only continued to ignore the comics; it destroyed the live action film franchise with a plot so ridiculous that even at my young age, I had to actively work hard to convince myself that what I just saw wasn't a pile of shit. |

4. Dragonball Evolution
With characters that only vaguely resemble their counterparts created by Akira Toriyama and an atrocious script that would make even the writers of the original American TV edits of DragonBall and DragonBall Z blush, most people would just prefer to forget this disaster exists. |

|
5. Spider-Man 3
Now, I could be wrong about this, as I am not an expert on Spider-Man, but I'm pretty sure that in the comics, the Venom symbiote didn't merely turn Peter Parker into an eyeliner-loving emo douchenozzle with jazz piano powers. |

6. Batman & Robin
As Alex said in the Faithless video feature, this movie has more in common with the old Adam West Batman than it does with anything else related to the character. But at least the Adam West series is actually fun to watch. |

7. Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie
This one will be unfamiliar to most of you, undoubtedly. However, I won't bother trying to explain what it's about in this space because it honestly isn't any use. Any semblance of relation to the original manga, which was already tenuous in the manga's accompanying television series, was completely obliterated in the film. Imagine an anime film as directed by Ken Russell involving lesbianism, characters that turn into cars, and an aside featuring a mouse-like thing taking a piss on a cow, and you'll be off to a good start. |

8. Catwoman
Yes, I watched it, and I'm sorry that I did. Both a terrible movie and a terrible interpretation of the character. The Catwoman that appeared in Batman Returns may not have been the most faithful adaptation either, but was still enjoyable and made perfect sense in the Tim Burton interpretation of Batman. This one is just embarrassing to the point that it gave me a headache. |

9. X-Men: The Last Stand
I'm not even going to dignify this one with a text blurb. Fuck this movie. |
