So far, it's been a good day in the pre-apocalyptic wasteland.

General Discussion » Rate the last film you watched.

La Rafle... Probably the most colourful holocaust movie I've watched, but decent enough, apart from a couple of lacklustre performances. 3/5

Kaizers Orchestra's last single "Tusen Dråper Regn".

The record is going to be something special.

TV » Just completed The Shield.....I feel numb!

@hillskill:  I completely agree. In fact, the entire final season was like being kicked in the chest with awesome. One breathtaking set piece after another. And the final few frames are just incredible. And it did really leave you feeling numb. In a good way. :)

A clothing store chain tried their utmost to ruin Goodnight Moon by Shivaree for me.

General Discussion » Have you ever cried at a film?

I cry unsettlingly often during movies these days. Maybe old age is making more sensitive. :)

James Jarrett » From...well...me! A real treat!!!

@tintallin:  It was watchable, but nothing in it really made it stand out from other zombie movies, I felt. I didn't really have anything in it that gave it a personality of its own, but it did the job as a genre movie. I did enjoy a couple of the performances, and yours actually stood out as one of the more memorable. As dead-pan goes, yours was up there. :)

I thought smokestacks were cloud making machines. They sure look like they are.

They're... not?

TV » Babylon 5 worth watching?

YES!

I mean, yes...

The visuals look a bit dated now, and Bruce Boxleitner's soothing voice starts grating now and then, and the standalone episodes aren't always fantastic, but the slow ominous build-up that eventually turns into conflict between season 2-4 is probably my favourite SF-storyline ever. Rewatched the entire thing last year, and it holds up well.

Can't compare it to DS9, since I haven't really seen enough of that to get into the continuity.

General Discussion » Favorite Scenes

@grumbel:  That one is fantastic. One of the most intense and subversive scene's I've seen.

My favorite is the last scene between Li Mu Bai and Shu Lien in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Call me a softie, but the scene where  SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content.

The clip is very SPOILER heavy!

Served a year on the Norwegian  tundra, watching for Russian tanks rolling towards the border, and preparing to run like crazy it they ever did. :)

General Discussion » Do you actually LIKE going to "The Movies"?

Really depends on who I'm going with. I went to see The Incredible Hulk with a friend of mine who managed to smuggle in an entire tray of beer once. That was a good time.  How he actually pulled it off, I have no idea.

Now that you mention it though, I do find myself going less and less to the actual cinema, and instead waiting for the Blu-Ray. Mostly because cinema-goers have slowly turned into inconsiderate assholes.

General Discussion » Great Films You Never Want to See Again

@Sam_Peckinpaws Dude, Grave of the fireflies was totally the first one which came to mind when I read the topic. Also, maybe Pan's labyrinth for me. I've stood with the DVD in my hand, intent on a second viewing several times, but I can't seem to be able to put it on.

Corpse Bride maybe. Didn't get the love that A nightmare before Christmas got, but still a great film.
