Top Ten Movies
Alright, so here it is, my ten favourite movies of all time...Needless to say this is in a state of constant flux, so you know...Bear that in mind. Also, you might notice I dig comedy. I'm a comedian. it's what I do.
1. Bandslam

This is a movie which is very much not what it appears. It was marketed as a High School Musical clone, but it's really got little to do with High School Musical other than the characters being in High School, music and Vanessa Hudgens. The themes, music, story, messages...All completely different. Even Hudgens's character and performance, completely different.

2. Back to the Future Part II

My favourite part of my favourite Trilogy, because it encompasses much of the original, whilst also adding the awesome future section. I want those damn shoes! This is the Back to the Future movie I always turn to first and, to me, this is the single best argument for the existence of the 1980s.

3. Back to the Future

An absolute classic which kicked off the greatest franchise in history, and produced some amazingly funny quotable lines. Not to mention the fantastic musical number Marty McFly puts on at the Enchantment Under The Sea dance. You better believe a Back to the Future Poster will be going on my wall at University (That's College to you Yankees).

4. Back to the Future Part III

Yeah, it's not quite as good as the first two parts, but "not quite as good as MIND-BLOWINGLY AWESOME" is still...Well...Awesome! And quite frankly, some of the best jokes are in this part, especially Doc Brown's antics in the past, as well as Marty's Clint Eastwood gags.

5. The Simpsons Movie

I am an unashamedly massive fan of The Simpsons, and one of the loyal few who maintains the show is just as funny as ever. The Simpsons Movie is hilarious, blowing the best elements of the show up in fantastic ways. Great jokes, great quotes and a cameo from my favourite band, Green Day...What's not to like?!

6. The Hangover

A movie which needs no introduction. The most legitimately funny live action comedy produced in well over a decade. This one totally sneaked up on me. We went to see it in theatres expecting to be mildly entertained - we'd heard good things of course. But what we saw was a laugh riot. The entire audience was in stitches nearly the whole time. A masterpiece.

7. The Paper

I saw this movie on TV recently because it had my favourite Batman (Michael Keaton) in it, and it was about the media - my area of interest. What I expected to be something I'd just have on in the background wound up totally captivating me. I recorded it and I've since watched it through several times, and it never gets old. This movie is hilarious and it's hugely entertaining. Well worth a watch!

8. Spider-Man

Narrowly beating out Tim Burton's Batman as my favourite super hero movie of all time (Though admittedly by cheating owing to the fact Spider-Man narrowly bests Batman in my list of favourite super heroes - partly because I find him more interesting as a character, partly because he's in the, better, Marvel Universe), Spider-Man and its sequels are always worth a watch when I want a popcorn flick.

9. Star Wars

It's frigging Star Wars. Do I really have to explain this? Instead, here's soemthing about why I prefer this to the Prequels. Now, admittedly, I saw Episode I first. And I'm not afraid to admit that, yes, I did actually like it. And I still maintain the prequels aren't as bad as they're made out to be. Yes, bits of them are dumb and the originals are better, but they're hardly Indiana Jones 4. That said, A New Hope always resonates with me more. I think there's something to be said for the appeal of rooting for the brave Rebels as opposed to the relatively conservative Jedi Order of the Prequels. Sure, the Jedi order are good, but they're not very relatable. The ragtag crew of the original Star Wars appeals to the revolutionary spirit in us all.

10. Toy Story 2

It's a real tossup for me as to which Disney/Pixar Animated flick takes the top spot. I have to give it to Toy Story 2 for being one of the most resonant films of my childhood, but also in contention are The Lion King, Aladdin, Toy Story 1, The Great Mouse Detective, The Incredibles, Cars...You know what, I'll make a list of best Disney Animated Films too.
