1. Cronos
Now that's what I call a vampire movie. Guillermo del Toro got it all right from the start. And could Ron Perlman be any more wonderful in everything he does? He probably could, but then our minds wouldn't be able to handle it. |

2. Don't Look Now
This movie oozes creepy atmosphere and the ending is wicked. |

3. The Hunger
Another good vampire movie. A classic. |

4. The Wicker Man
Yeah, it's kind of not a very great movie (and no, I refuse to acknowledge the remake), but I think the suspense and the fear manage to shine through all the cheesy elements. |

5. Suspiria
I will never watch this movie again because the first time terrified me so much. And by that I mean you should see it, if you haven't. |

6. Eyes of Laura Mars
I think it deserves a spot here, but I haven't quite figured out a succinct and compelling explanation as to why. |

7. Rosemary's Baby |

8. Peeping Tom |

9. Carnival of Souls
I'm not as much scared by this film as I find that it builds on a pretty simple idea of hauntings in a very interesting way. I also think that the soundtrack is tremendous. Before there was Goblin, there was creepy calliope and church organ music. |
