General Discussion » Who do you think the cast is in the Stephen King's IT remake?

@Funzzo said:

Who cares remakes suck for the most part. It is one of my favorite king movies. Why remake it? Why??

I don't know. The original sucks pretty bad in this case.

Batman: Year One » New animated Batman??

I have a very strong and serious dislike for whomever voiced Batman in this feature. Otherwise I really enjoyed the entirety of the product. The flaws in Gordon's character and the initial failings of Bruce Wayne's crusade were all very interesting to me. The origin of Catwoman here was a little boring and I didn't really care at all. It was an intriguing experience that I will be happy to never have again, but I don't really regret having watched it.

Family Guy » MacFarlane wants Family Guy to end and become a movie

Despite years of being a terrible television show, there was an pretty enjoyable Simpsons movie a few years back, so my feelings on "mature" cartoons becoming films has somewhat shifted. It could be done well. I think Family Guy's strength is in its episodic nature though, and I am not sure how well an audience would respond to something feature-length. That Stewie thing wasn't very good.

Wait, this show is still going on?

My reaction too. Not that I thought it was bad only that I thought it was meant to hold us over between Ep 2 and 3.

What? The Clone Wars started several years following the release of episode 3. There was that series of animated shorts back in the day, but this series is different.

Off-Topic » What book has been sitting on your shelf forever?

I have the first book in the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan hanging out on my Kindle "shelf," and it doesn't look to be going anywhere soon.

Battlestar Galactica » Worth buying the bluray boxset?

I am actually pretty curious myself. My girlfriend's parents have been urging me to watch this show given my love for Star Wars and Firefly, but I haven't taken the plunge yet. The package itself looks alluring, but that price tag doesn't make it difficult to resist.

What people say that picture quality is the same? Legitimate sources or ignorant people who believe that there is no difference between standard definition and high definition? Because those people infuriate me.

Jedi Council Chamber » Aw, Jedi Kitties!

This is, of course, an additional scene implemented into tomorrow's Blu-Ray release of Revenge of the Sith, occurring immediately prior to Anakin's march on the Jedi Temple.

The Terminator » Will they make a Terminator Complete Collector's Edition?

If said box set included the first two movies and nothing else I would pay infinitely more than I would if the final two movies were packed in there.

General Discussion » Big Live Live Show Live 2: Who's Watching?

I hope I will get to watch a decent portion of it, but I'm not sure. I have classes that day and then it's the weekend so I may just end up going out and doing something.

Eureka » Show canceled, Syfy continues to suck a fat one

I think SyFy is just very concerned about competent programming getting in the way of their week-long Megaplatypus Vs. Giant Dolphin marathons.

This was filmed at my girlfriend's sister's university. She got a lot of pictures for the actors and was texting it to everyone.

Cars 2 » Cars 2 reviews are out

As much as I am in love with Pixar I sort of hope this film does poorly, at least critically. Maybe it will encourage them to abstain from quick cash-in sequels and to continue creating new, imaginative universes like those in WALL-E, Ratatouille, and UP. I think that is what we all want.

General Discussion » What Problems Do You Have With 3D?

I feel like it hurts the movie-going experience. Sure, I enjoyed the 3D effects in Avatar, but beyond that it simply feels like a gimmick thrown in there to charge even more for already-outrageous ticket prices. And I don't really want to spend two hours wearing those goofy-ass glasses.

That said I don't think any of the options in this poll address the concerns that many movie-goers have with 3D.

Mila Kunis » Will there be a sequel to The Book of Eli?

It doesn't need one, and if one does happen then I assume Garry Whitta will have no involvement. He has been doing a lot of work with the Penny Arcade guys as of late.

Screencast » Questions for 2-14 Screencast.

The Star Wars prequel trilogy has been catching all sorts of hell since the release of The Phantom Menace back in 1999. Briefly discarding the things that went wrong with that franchise, what are some things the two of you really liked about that trio of films? Personally, I really enjoyed Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, especially in Revenge of the Sith where he was practically channeling a young Alec Guinness.
