Where does one start, Australia and New Zealand were one of the first countries Thor opened in. I went to the midnight screening,  I read comics; I do read Thor from time to time, but he was never really a favorite for me.

I went in a skeptic, as some of the trailers didn't have Thor wearing his helm, which I thought was weird as you cant have Thor without his winged helm. But what I saw in the movie was awesome! Plus any fans who are worried about Thor and his winged helm, don't worry its there.  I didn't check out the movie in 3D as I'm not much of a 3D fan I thought I would just go for the normal 2D this time, I am glad I did, this movie doesn't warrant 3D viewing.

The visual effects of this movie are done pretty well, Asgard looks beautifully done. The visual effects are also done very well from the landscape to the ice giants of  Jotunheim.

Chris Hemsworth, pulls off Thor with ease, he has stacked on the muscle as well, he is far from his small frame when we last saw him in Star Trek. Anthony Hopkins also pulls off a wicked performance Odin. The only person I have issues with on this is Kat Dennings, It seems like she is there for comedic purposes, when in actual fact Thor has its funny moments with out her. There is one point which really annoys me, when she is trying to pronounce Mjolnir she prounounces it like a baby. Why is she even there, she is constantly acting like a child who majoured in political science. Why would a person who majoured in political science act so childish? That would be my only gripe with this movie.

The actions scenes are perfect, from Thor's combat with the ice giants to him flying with Mjolnir, One of my favorite scene is when Thor is swinging Mjolnir  into the ground and he is flicking up rock to his oncoming enemies, every thing is there, from him throwing Mjolnir to snapping necks and cashing cheques with it.

All in all its a pretty solid movie which deserves every one's attention! there is even a cameo from Hawkeye, if you do end up seeing this movie be sure to hang around well after the credits have rolled!
