I like researching music and listening that. I'm also on my schools track team.

John Woo wants to remake it, but Le Samourai would be a disaster if it was remade

Hitchcock, which is a book length interview of Hitchcock by Francois Truffaut, is absolutely fascinating.

Amazed that A Separation got nominated for best screenplay. I need to see that movie. It looks amazing.

Quantum of Solace 2.5/5  Some great action scenes, but a not so great plot and the characters are not interesting at all. A disappointment after the masterpiece (imo) of Casino Royale

Yeah, I do. I have 4 that usually do a pretty good job of nocking me out: Kind of Blue by Miles Davis, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock by Talk Talk, and Astral Weeks by Van Morrison.

Drive, The Artist, Shame, A Separation (it's coming to DC in about a week, so I'm interested to see if it lives up to the hype), Film Socialisme and the entire top 10 for the year of Cahiers du Cinema, all of which look interesting

Tokyo Drifter- 5/5  The story isn't all the original or interesting, but  it has an incredible visual style and some great action scenes. One of the better gangster movies I've seen.

In Alphabetical order. In the case of Three Colors trilogy, I put them as one film.

Some good choices. However, I completely disagree with I Saw the Devil. I thought the film was absolutely terrible. The characters were flat, the film was one of the most unexciting things this year, it's extremely monotonous, and it went on way too long. I was ok with the violence in the film for about the first 30 minutes (in this 144 minute film) and then its just repetitive. I ...

I went on a cruise with my family, but spent a lot of the time watching movies, as I'm not much of a beach guy. Watched a lot of criterions I had and hadn't watched, like Au Hasard Balthazar, The Great Dictator, L'Atalante, The Three Colors Trilogy, and Yojimbo. I also saw Super 8.

I have yet to see Drive, The Artist, or A Separation, so this list could easily change. Best of 2011 1. Certified Copy This is #1 by a lot. In my mind, in the top 5 films made in the past 25 years. 2. The Tree of Life 3. Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives 4. Meek's Cutoff 5. The Double Hour 6. Beginners 7. Super 8 8. Midnight ...

Three Colors Trilogy: I give all of them a 5/5. Some of the best film making I've ever seen. The trilogy easily makes my top 10 films of all time list, as I consider them all essential. Now it's time to move on to The Decalogue.

I'm really happy to see Juliette Binoche on the list. I would also include William Shimell on the list as well. He was just as great in my mind as Binoche and I would rate both of their performances as the best of the year. I would include Brad Pitt on the list as well. He was amazing in Tree of LIfe and Moneyball

I have only seen one film by Yosujiro Ozu, none by David Lean, one by Jean Luc Godard,  not all of Jean Pierre Melville, and not nearly enough of Orson Welles. Those are the big directors I'm missing, but there are countless classic films I haven't seen. The biggest classic I haven't seen right now that I really want to watch is The Decalogue, by  Krzysztof Kieślowski.
