Of course it's well known!  That's the movie where in which The Phantom Menace trailer premiered, only to have people walk out of the theaters after the trailer played, right?

@crimsonavenger: Take the setting of Battle Royale (children chosen by the government to participate in combat) and give it a Series 7-style reality show (except we're viewing it directly from the POV of the contestants rather than as an audience member) and you get the general concept.  It's the kind of YA fiction that anyone can read and get something out of it.  (I'm 30 and blew through the books in a week and a half, which I haven't done since the Millennium Trilogy.)
