Lars von Trier » Trier be crazy!

@gangly: Hmm...I suppose. I guess I'm just not aware of any aspect of Hitler that demands sympathy.
Yes, I'm sure people who came out of fighting in the trenches of the First World War had no psychological issues and deserve no sympathy.

Off-Topic » WWIII... it's here

I don't see how it's World War 3. The only country that cares about the North Korean regime is China, and they don't care enough to go to war with their biggest debtor.

TV » A History of Horror

Very interesting, lots of great directors interviewed.

It was leaked. Probably on purpose. Showtime seemed to do the same thing for the first episode of every Dexter season.

TV » The Walking Dead Episode 1

It's slightly better than I thought, but I did roll my eyes on occasion. The acting is good but Andrew Lincoln and Lennie James pretty much tower over everyone else. The gore quotient is ...satisfactory, even a bit surprising for a U.S. tv show, but on the whole it's nothing you haven't seen before if you're steeped in zombie movie lore.

TV » Help me find a movie.

I remember that water mocasins scene. It's got to be Lonesome Dove, even though John Wayne isn't in it.

TV » Don't you mss old style tv show intros?

Great openings set the tone early for the show. But of course these days you can't even enjoy the show without ads popping up onscreen, let alone the numberous commerical breaks.

I wonder what the Korean artists were thinking when they animated that opening. :D

TV » The Simpsons intro by Banksy

First time I laughed at new Simpsons content in almost a decade. Probably because they had little to do with the content.

General Discussion » Formula One hits Suzuka! Will Lewis Hamilton Survive?

I don't see Hamilton doing the business. Two DNF's in a row? I can see that having an affect on his drive, either not taking the chances to win or being even more reckless and crashing out again. The championship will go to one of the Red Bulls, hopefully Webber. All the in-team drama this year is a good bonus but it sucks that Ross Brawn's team have gone into freefall since last year, particularly with Schumacher making a comeback.

It reminds me of the satire of racist 70s sitcoms.

TV » Thursday Night TV Recap - What Did Everybody Think?

Watched Community and It's Always Sunny. Community was suprisingly brilliant. I don't know why I thought it was going to be a let-down before watching. Maybe Sunny's mediocre return played a part. The last two episodes have been pretty weak and especially low on laughs.
...and then he high-fives the priest. Awesomness.

TV » Jeff Zucker fired from NBC

They can't get rid of Jay, it would cost too much. While I don't blame Zucker solely for the mess at NBC I have zero sympathy for the way he handled The Tonight Show situation and particularly how he treated Conan, his former friend.
