"Hey I actually got a networking connection for a possible job! Wait...how am I gonna write this cover letter since the company is purely about chemistry research."
I thought all TV shows and commercials were being aired in real time, not taped.. I used to be amazed at how fast they could set up the stage to do commercials during the breaks.
Dead Like Me is a quirky comedy/drama that's only two seasons long. There's also a movie too. I haven't watched it so I can't vouch if that's also good.
Grandma's House is also great if you don't mind incredibly dark humor. It's a British show with only one season out so far.
I saw the moon while I was out driving earlier in the evening. It didn't seem to appear any larger to me. It was incredibly bright though. I don't think I've seen the craters on the moon this vividly before.
@Mushir: Yeah, she does photoshop to the extreme on some of her works. I think I saw a video online showing the process for producing one of her photos. She pretty much added all of the background elements digitally afterward. Personally I don't really like it since it makes the whole photo look fake.
I thought the one with Rachel Weiss as Snow White was pretty. It's weird for me to say this, but the Sleeping Beauty themed ad with Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron is good.
You would think they would update the plot and use some other industry. Who cares about trains in the US nowadays? Besides that, the trailer looks uninspiring.
I've been trying to watch all of Cillian Murphy's movies. Out of the ones I've seen, Watching the Detectives is my least favorite and Red Eye is the best.
@Rorie: Thanks for the articles. I'll read them after I'm done celebrating over Novak's win!
I'm so excited that Djokovic won his second slam! I wish the match was more compelling though. I don't understand why Murray played the way he did. Djokovic played great, but Murray totally gave it away too. I was expecting a tight 4-5 set match, instead it was a near slaughter. I guess he's still not mentally there yet.
@skidd: I think Andy Murray plays great tennis, and is another guy I hope does well. He, Djokovic, and Petzschner are the ones I like to watch. The only issue I have with Murray is that he needs to play more aggressively. Haha, sometimes it's frustrating to watch him play since he doesn't attack when he has the advantage!
I was wondering if there are any tennis fans out there watching the Open at the moment? I can only catch a match here or there because of the time difference.
Is there anyone you're cheering for to win? I'm really hoping Novak Djokovic can make this his second slam win. Recently he seems able to keep a clear head so I think he has the chance to make it far. I do admit that Rafa has much better chances of winning though. I'm not following things on the women's side since I usually end up only seeing the Willams or Sharapova matches on TV.The amount of shrieking that occurs is ear drum destroying.
Also what's with the long sleeves that the officials and ball kids have to wear? I thought it's summer right now over there?
Yeah I feel the same. I felt that way towards the first Cars movie too. The idea of talking, sentient cars just bothers me. How are new cars made? Do they grow up from small baby cars to large normal sized ones? I've never seen the first movie so I don't know if these questions are answered.
No, I don't think it is. If anything I think sci-fi has gotten more sophisticated now in its storytelling. Star Trek and Stargate weren't able to adapt to that which is why they were canceled. I tried watching Stargate Atlantis for a few seasons, and I couldn't get what the fuss about the show was. A lot of its story lines were elementary. They also never really delved into the characters. How can that compete with shows like Lost? With Battlestar Galactica, I think that was more due to mismanagement on the channel's part. I remember that the show garnered a lot of praise when it was still on air.
The longest thing I ever memorized was for my Chinese course in college. It was some ancient poem that was written in classical Chinese. I thought we had to memorize and recite by next class. Since I was terrified of my professor I memorized it in a day. Turns out she was only joking.
Nowadays I just have baking related tips memorized.
