General Discussion » Joseph Gordon Levitt to play Batman in the Justice League Movie?

Got some good news (at least for me),

http://geektyrant.com/news/2012/11/27/joseph-gordon-levitt-is-not-involved-with-justice-league.html

A rumor was recently reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be playingBatman in Warner Bros' Justice League film and possibly make an appearance inMan of Steel.

The rumor stated that "Joseph Gordon-Levitt absolutely will be appearing in Justice League as the new Batman." Well as I expected, the news turned out to be false. Gordon-Levitt's reps have flat out denied that the actor has any kind of involvement with Justice League. Hollywood.com followed up with his reps who "have refuted the rumor entirely." So there you have it.

It would have been nice, but like I said in the original write-up, it makes no sense for Bruce Wayne not to be involved with Justice League. He's a key component to the team, and I just don't see how Justice League could exist without him. I also don't see Levitt's character outside of the universe that Christopher Nolan has created.

If this information was leaked out by studio insiders, maybe it was just to help create some buzz for the upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release of The Dark Knight Rises.

Phew! I was a little worried there for a second.

At least that's what hitflix believes.

http://afterthecut.com/2012/11/27/joseph-gordon-levitt-rumored-to-play-batman-for-justice-league/

"According to hitflix sources are saying that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is “absolutely” in the Justice League film but he won’t be the man we thought he would be, he’d be Batman!

Gordon-Levitt, who played John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises, who later (spoiler alert) turned out to be the boy wonder himself as Batman and not Robin?

Christopher Nolan shocked us all at the major twist at the end of his trilogy and rampant questions and speculation wanted more of JGL as Robin. Now it looks like HitFix is confident we’ll get more of JGL just not how we thought.

Nolan is currently serving as an executive producer for Man of Steel, the new Superman film, who also happens to be a member of The Justice League…are worlds colliding and things coming into focus? Right now it’s all speculation and rumors.

What’s even worse is that a Justice League film isn’t planned until 2015 so the rumors will be abundant.

Here’s something many are suggesting may happen, obviously more SPECULATION:

The credits roll on Zack Snyder’s Superman epic next summer and we see Henry Cavill as Superman flying through the sky where he lands on a Gotham building in the presence of Jim Gordon and “the new” Batman to a little chat.

Pretty crazy right? But how many heads would explode if that were to happen? Mine would. It would be like how The Avengers set up with all their scenes after Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger.

Now you have something to think about, do you like the idea of JGL sporting the black suit? Do you think he should remain Robin, or are you just stoked that this could be a possibility".

I'm calling bullsht.

The Nolan Batman movies have gone out of their way to remove any supernatural elements associated with Batman (Ra's Al Ghul for instance isn't immortal), and now they’re supposed to coexist with other Superheroes and Aliens and Demigods?

No effing way is this real.

Indiana Jones » Is a fifth indiana jones really necessary?

@VioletEyedDragon:

It's not, a B cinemascore is considered to be just okay.

Besides cinemascore are usually done from the first screenings, so opinions are bound to change.

@VioletEyedDragon:

A B is actually a little more mixed. A movie like Green Lantern got a B cinemascore for instance.

And Box office does not equal quality.

@VioletEyedDragon:

Well critics aren't moviegoers, besides I still remember the film having mixed opinions when it was first released.

Some hated it, some liked it, very few loved it.

Upcoming Movies » What an ass load of poo! It's the AVGN movie trailer!

Looks good. For a low budget film the special effects look quite impressive.

As far as I'm concerned James Rolfe is a genius.

xXx: State of the Union » 3rd movie?

@OrigamiAngel:

Yes, they were supposed to do a third one. At one point it was going to be Vin Diesel and Ice Cube.

Although the project is pretty much on hold (their probably waiting to see how well the third Riddick does before they greenlight it).

@alexpiercey:

Yeah, my box office predictions are based both off tracking and who's in the movie (Denzel Washington is generally a good draw for example, his movies usually open above 20 million).

Why are people expecting Flight to underperform?

It has Denzel Washington in it, and his movies usually make 20 or more million on their opening weekends the only problem it has is that Paramount didn't seem to have enough faith it in despite it's leads starpower (why it isn't being released in more than 2000 theaters is beyond me but I really hope it does well enough that paramount slaps themselves for not releasing it in over 2000 theaters).

Notes: The original director, Michael Apted, was forced to pull out three weeks before principle photography was going to finish but Curtis Hanson was there to shoot the rest of the movie in his place.

This in inaccurate, Curtis Hanson was the original director, but couldn't finish the movie due to health reasons and Michael Apted helped finish it for him.

15 Million for butter? I don't believe it's getting a wide release.
