How much reading do you do in a Foreign Language film?

@FinalDasa: I do have a list I found that has the "Essential" episodes of the Original Series. I would like to watch those at least, but I was wondering does the Original Series have a consecutive timeline to follow or can I just watch an episode without having to follow from the beginning?
