Hidden Gems » The Iron Giant

I love how they used the old style animation in this movie and there are some very memorable scenes

General Discussion » AFI Top 100 Films... how many have you seen.

81, and there are some movies on the list such as It's a Wonderful Life and Forest Gump I wish I'd never ever seen...hours of my life I can never get back and sometimes you just end up watching this stuff cos Critics and everyone else love these films so much
Others like Raging Bull, Midnight Cowboy, Dr Strangelove, Toy Story and Rear Window I do love to watch, I really enjoy them and can watch over and over again
Films like the original KingKong are weird, I do agree it was very important to cinema and quiet ground breaking but to rewatch it is a bore for me, I find Nosferatu or some of Louise Brooks films much easier to watch. The Pete Jackson remake was terrible, pure Donkey Kong.

I suppose everyone has their own taste, don't normally pay much attention to top 100 lists

Geeze, I've only seen 26 of them. Clearly, I need to start watching better movies.

Yeah I would say definitely yes., you moderate a film site and there are a number of very good movies on this list
but like I said not to everyone's taste

For example I wouldn't bother with titanic. if you have not seen it then don't
not a big fan of Jim Cameron, its just mostly a remake of 'Night to Remember' scene for scene but with better effects/CGI and a romantic story to get the ladies butts into the cinema seats
Titanic is a very over-rated movie

watch 'A Night to Remember' instead

Loki » Is LOKI the most likeable movie bad guy (thor spoiler)

One of the things that really stands out in the Thor movie is not just the CGI of Asgard or the performance from Chris or Anthony, its the bad guy. Loki is just awesome. Hiddleston does an outstanding job bringing life to this character shining as bright as any of the characters. Would he rank in a top 5 alongside other movie bad guys/gals? Guys like Agent Smith (Matrix), Captain Hook (Disney), Borg Queen (Star Trek), Joker (Batman), Ursula (Disney), Zod (Superman)....or whatever top 5 that springs to your mind. Tom's Loki isn't cartoonish or one-dimensional, he is a fully fleshed out three dimensional character, he might be bad but he comes with desires and faults that are relatable to a lot of people.  I don't think Loki ever wanted the Frost people to destroy Asgard, Loki has lived a life of rejection and has just this messed up streak to his personality a streak that's very prankster and anarchist but he's not totally evil, he just wanted to upstage Thor and prove how powerful and ruthless and wise he would be instead of Thor.  His father lied to him, he was always treated like a fifth wheel on a car, and when Thor went bonkers on warrior-madness Loki saved his people from Thor acting quite foolish. Loki wasn't totally evil, sure he attacked the warrior and Thor but a lot of his actions were just theatrics to show Thor up as a punk and he was moreso trying to prove himself to Odin rather than being completely evil.

Oldboy » Chan-Wook Park has a new movie

I love Park but I think this is a miss for me. If you make a film make the effort, not everyone thinks Blairwitch style shakey cam is artistic

Devon Aoki » Name a worse performance than Devon Aoki in 2 Fast 2 Furious.

Keanu Reeves in Dracula...everyone does ok but Keanu wrecks it with his whole 'california dude' attitude through the entire picture. He's tries hard to act the role of Bram's original novel but fails miserably
