The stakes in this match have never been higher. And no one truly knows what will happen.

At Money in the Bank, the main event in John Cena defending the WWE Championship against Internet-favorite CM Punk. Normally, it's easy to know who the winner is, as Cena always overcomes the odds and saves the day. However, this time is different. There's an aura surrounding this match, blurring the line between scripted and shoot.

It's been known for a while through the dirt sheets that CM Punk's contract expired in July and Punk was considering not resigning due to feeling underutilized. CM Punk truly believes he's the best wrestler in the world, and it's hard to argue that. So when Punk won the #1 contendership for the title, many of us thought this was just a way to make him consider re-signing. But then, this promo happened.

CM Punk was "suspended" for this rant, but John Cena pleaded with Vince McMahon to have him re-instated and to have the match. McMahon reluctantly agreed, but the condition is that if Punk leaves the WWE with the championship, Cena is fired.

So what will happen at Money in the Bank? Honestly, I don't know. But here are some possibilities.

CM Punk wins: Cena fired, new championship made

In the scenario, CM Punk pulls out the victory in his hometown, and McMahon fires Cena. Punk actually leaves, but Vince vacates the championship to prevent him from defending it elsewhere. A tournament leading up to SummerSlam is announced, with a brand new championship belt being introduced. Cena is gone, but will eventually come back for some stupid reason or another.

Why would this work: It seems a bit unexpected. A lot of people don't think Vince has the balls to let CM Punk win his last match in his hometown for the title. Cena disappearing would also be another twist to this, as when this stipulation was announced many fans believed this ensured a Cena win. Plus, I'm getting sick of that title belt. This would be the perfect opportunity to make a new design. This'll sell a lot more replicas.

John Cena wins: Punk leaves, Cena faces Del Rio at SummerSlam

In the scenario, John Cena overcomes the odds. Perhaps even McMahon gets involved to ensure he wins. After this, he continues to put pressure on Cena to hold on to that title to make sure the WrestleMania match against The Rock is for the title, because he knows it'll sell the pay-per-view. He then goes against Alberto Del Rio at SummerSlam since he already won a #1 Contender Match.

Why this would work: This is probably the safest solution. No extra drama, nothing to unexpected, and Cena would get a storyline to lead him into his match with The Rock. They've already painted McMahon as only caring about making money now, so why not keep him around as a villain?

CM Punk wins: Sides with McMahon and resigns, Cena fights to get back

In this scenario, McMahon screws John Cena and Punk aligns with him. CM Punk signs a new contract and they get rid of John Cena. However, John Cena sees this as odds to overcome and just like when Wade Barrett fired him, he never truly goes away. He just keeps trying to get back at them until he's finally reinstated and wins the belt back before WrestleMania.

Why this would work: RAW needs a strong heel, and aligning with McMahon would make a great CM Punk even greater. It first worked when he took over the Nexus, so why not? Also some of the WWE's biggest faces of all time squared off with McMahon (I'm look at you, Stone Cold Steve Austin). This could be an attempt to get Cena over before the crowd completely splits in  two when he faces The Rock. He needs all the help he can get.

John Cena wins: CM Punk refuses to go out like that, seeks revenge

This is probably the least likely scenario. In this one, John Cena cleanly wins the match, but CM Punk refuses to leave without the belt. He hastily resigns a new contract and becomes obsessed with winning the title.

Why this would work: I doubt anyone wants CM Punk to leave. He's one of the best things going, and right now he's hotter than ever. This would be an excuse for CM Punk to stay around and give him the permanent main event spot he deserves. This isn't very likely to happen, but it'd keep both the belt on Cena leading up to the build for WrestleMania and CM Punk around because he's just so damn good at what he does.

What happened to me lately? Oh not much, aside from my computer absolutely going to shit and falling apart (literally, my laptop is in pieces). Sorry about that, but iOS doesn't seem to like the text editor on Whiskey sites.

But good news, I'll be back to being active here next week with write-ups on wrestling, updating articles, and hopefully doing non-wrestling blogs! So stay tuned. Trust me, I miss doing this stuff.

Hello Screened Universe!

Where have I been lately? I've been busy graduating from college with my Bachelor's. showing off awesome Rock Band content at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and trying to find time to sleep somewhere in between (spoilers: I didn't find any).

With Capitol Punishment this Sunday, I will be sure to write up a good review on it. And then I'll return with your regularly-scheduled WWEport. I will likely be writing it from the beach, giving myself a much-needed vacation, so hopefully it'll be good with me more rested.

So don't think I've forgotten you all! And be sure to look out for my review early next week. Fingers crossed it'll be better than 2 stars.

The Madness Will Never Die

Today is a sad day for wrestling fans. The WWE legend "Macho Man" Randy Savage passed away today after a fatal car accident. Known for his vibrant outfits, his iconic voice, and telling people to "snap into a Slim Jim", he truly was one of biggest stars in all of professional wrestling and worldwide sensation.

Randy Savage had a decorated career in World Wrestling Entertainment and World Championship Wrestling (and I'm not just talking out his attire). He is a two-time WWE Champion and four-time WCW Champion. He also won the 1987 King of the Ring Tournament to become the "Macho King" for some time. Savage was one half of arguably the strongest tag teams ever, the Mega Powers, with Hulk Hogan. We all know how their out-of-ring relationship has developed since then. If you don't here's a video of Randy telling it like it is:

The recent video game WWE All Stars was the first wrestling game in years to finally feature Savage again. To help promote the game, he shot a video talking about the game the only way he can.

Whiskey Media's own Jeff Gerstmann is a known fan of the Macho Man. When Giant Bomb did a Quick Look of WWE All Stars, Jeff instantly picked Savage to go against John Cena, and unleashed his Madness.

I really wish I could have hired the Macho Man to do commercials for me.

Randy, we all will miss you. A lot of us grew up inspired by your Madness and rooting for you in the ring. You never did get to make your official to the WWE, and it would have been really great to see you cut a promo one last time. This one's for you, Randy. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH YEAH!

UPDATE: Hulu has posted a playlist of some of Randy Savage's greatest moments. Check out here.

Hello again Screened Universe!

Looks like Ethan has run out of wrestling-related tasks to give me, as I wrapped up all the ones he had put on the site. That's just how I role I guess.

We're one week away from Over the Limit, and the action has been picking up in the WWE. This week both championship matches were made, pitting John Cena against The Miz in an "I Quit" Match for the WWE Championship, and a rematch of last week with Christian trying to reclaim his World Heavyweight Championship from Randy Orton. Let's see who gets honored in this week's awards.

RAW

Superstar of the Week - The Miz

Awesome
Awesome
He's The Miz, and this week he was indeed awesome. After nearly winning the WWE Championship last week on RAW, he re-asserted himself into the title picture when the newly-drafted Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio tried to claim the #1 contender spot. And by the end of the night, he found a way to get another shot at John Cena at Over the Limit.

Also, his lackey Alex Riley showed his dedication to The Awesome One by challenging Cena to a match this week. And unsurprisingly, he got his ass kicked. No one beats Cena. NO ONE!

Match of the Week - Triple Threat #1 Contendership Match

Alex Riley takes one for the team, trying to cause a distraction for The Miz
Alex Riley takes one for the team, trying to cause a distraction for The Miz
Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio, and The Miz and three of RAW's top superstars. We've seen in the past that Del Rio and Mysterio have excellent chemistry in the ring, so it was interesting seeing what The Miz would do to the formula. And it was good. In an exciting main event, the three battled it out until The Miz took advantage of an opening and stole the win.

Surprise of the Week - John Cena Fist-Pumps with Zack Ryder

WWWYKI
WWWYKI
Woo Woo Woo, You Know It! It looks like John Cena is a broski as he was caught pumpin' it up with The Long Island Iced Z before his match. If you haven't please go watch Zack Ryder's YouTube show Z! True Long Island Story. It's pretty much one of the best things ever.

"Wait, What?" Moment of the Week - R-Truth's Backstage Interview

If that's not the face of a crack addict, I don't know what is
If that's not the face of a crack addict, I don't know what is
What the hell happened here? Is R-Truth's new gimmick that he's on crack? He's talking to himself, constantly looking around like he's paranoid, and talking about nothing. If it's not his gimmick, I think he's been partying with Charlie Sheen on his days off, because his shit is getting just weird. He's also been a bit racist when he's on the microphone, especially at the top of the show when talking to Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio.

SmackDown

Superstar of the Week - Christian

Down, but not out
Down, but not out
This guy is a trooper. Even after losing his lifelong dream just two days after finally achieving it, he still seemed to keep his composure and put on a great performance. He also maintained looking like a main event Superstar. I hope this isn't a short-period thing and is the start of a long-term push for Captain Charisma. He has the charisma to be the face of SmackDown, doesn't he?

Match of the Week - Sin Cara vs. Daniel Bryan

Yeah, this was awesome.
Yeah, this was awesome.
Did this really happen? Did we really get to see Mistico vs.Bryan Danielson? Hell yes we did, and despite the interference from Chavo Guerrero, these two put on a clinic. If you missed SmackDown, I suggest you go to WWE's Web site and see some highlights of this match. It was absolutely wonderful and I would pay money to see more.

And while I'm here, does anyone know why every Sin Cara match has that bizarre blue lighting? It's sort of distracting and extremely unnecessary. Normal ring lighting would suffice, guys. Thanks.

Surprise of the Week - Randy Orton and Christian Get Along

Neither of their beards will ever be as good as Mike Knox's
Neither of their beards will ever be as good as Mike Knox's
These guys seemed to be good buddies just a week after Orton crushed Christian's dreams. What the hell? I would expect even a small ounce of animosity between them to fuel their match and maybe hint at one of them turning heel. But no, they both seem very much to be face and their match at Over the Limit will be purely for competition over the championship. Hopefully something happens in a week to change this, because I want one of these guys to turn heel and align themselves with a heel Teddy Long. I would prefer it to be Orton.

"Wait, What? Moment of the Week" - Michael Cole Trips Up Layla

Haters Gonna Hate
Haters Gonna Hate
This isn't so much a "wait, what?" in confusion as one in hilarity. Michael Cole tripping an injured Layla in order for him to escape from Kharma was just plain funny. I've had issues with Cole lately, but I did enjoy this. Plus, if Layla's injury is legit, this is a good way to write her off the show. But now I'm sad - Lay-Cool is completely gone now. Now any ounce of attention the Divas division had from me is gone unless Kharma does something great soon.

What do you think?

Agree? Disagree? Tempted to start tripping girls like your hero Michael Cole? Share your feedback below in the comments! Also feel free to share your picks for the categories above or your own categories. If I like your new categories, I may use them in a future edition of the WWEport.

Also, remember there won't be one of these next week as I prepare for Over the Limit. Don't worry, I'll have a review up for that within a few days after the show, so look out for that!
