This Netflix synching thing is strange, it lists my Twin Peaks viewing of last fall as most recent, but Damages, which I watched more recently, is nowhere in sight. I guess it's doing 5 months of syncing at once since I haven't been on here much?

But...but...*sigh*. I hope my brother doesn't know about this yet. I have him on videotape at age 6, wearing his Michelangelo Halloween costume (complete with homemade paper-mache shell) and singing the entire Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song, even though he couldn't pronounce all the words properly. You can't take out the first two words. You just can't.

Don't know what to say that hasn't already been said. I can't believe that such dumb people have millions of dollars at their disposal to shit all over classic beloved stories. But then I remember he only has that power because millions of dumb people pay money to see all his movies. So I guess the cycle is unstoppable.

I really wish TCM would do another Miyazaki festival. They aired lots of his overlooked or not-on-DVD movies, including Porco Rosso. Whispers of the Heart and Only Yesterday (which is still not available on DVD) are two I would never have encountered otherwise, and they made me a true fan.
