General Discussion » What's your favorite part of Brazil? (spoilers possible?)

The scene where he is being processed at the end of the movie through a series of identical looking rooms, however as he is moved through the rooms they become increasing hellish. With each room that passes you can hear the distant screams of peope being tortuted getting closer and closer. Just one of the best scenes ever in a film.

The Thing » Best scene ever.

Man I just finished up watching The Thing again so that I could polish off its wiki page and I forgot how great this film is but theres one scene that really stands out and its the blood testing scene. Its drawn out for so long and when it happens you jump the hell out of your skin because its so unexected, then the camera shows you whats happening on the couch. Brilliant...just effing brilliant.

Any other Thing lovers out there that want to vocalise their love?

@Somadude: probably not as weird as your avatar at the very least.

Off-Topic » Who else make Home Brew?

We can home brew as much as we want in Australia, you can buy the kits at department stores and I do and I drink and its awesome. Such a hassle sometimes though but its so rewarding when it turns out, its really the closest a man will ever get to experience childbirth.

Editing & Tools » Request a name/alias change here

Le Voyage dans la lune should be renamed to 'A Trip To the Moon.' The former title is its international name and should be added as an alias.

Off-Topic » Do you believe in homosexuality/bisexuality?

@Balls: I'm not angry at you man, it requires a lot to get my rage going and unless you start constantly hounding and insulting me then your not going to get me angry and while I do have some misgivings about the threads your creating, at the same time you don't seem like someone who would insult someone, at least not directly or purposely. I know this is an off-topic forum but don't you think that maybe this question, or at least the way you have approached it, is not entirely appropriate for this forum. If you are honestly curios about it, aren't there more relevant and suited places to ask this then a website about movies?

Look I'm not telling you what to do okay, your statement doesn't anger me, it more puzzles me than anything but at the same time I can see why people would be really offended by some of the things you have said despite my possibly incorrect judgment that you honestly didn't mean to. What I'm trying to say is that you haven't pissed me off but if you keep going the way your going your going to piss a lot of other people off and land yourself in some hot water with the mods.

Off-Topic » Do you believe in homosexuality/bisexuality?

Balls, I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt here and I never really wanted to seriously accuse you of anything but this thread has just completely convinced me that your nothing but a troll. Now I might be wrong, and I actually liked your 'What movie would you make if you had infinite money' thread, but that doesn't balance out the copious amounts of pointless and borderline offensive threads you have created in the short time that screened has been live and this one just takes the cake.

Look I don't want to be too harsh but I can't see anyone posting some of these threads without trying to purposely aggravate people and look if you are being geniune then I'm sorry for accusing you but dude...just think a bit more carefully when you make a thread. How could you not realize that this would really offend some people?

I don't even understand why there are leavings let alone the actual act.

General Discussion » What is the greatest performance of all time in a motion picture?

Isabelle Adjani in the 1981 film Possession. Its such a great performance because its so disturbing to watch her and yet I can't really put my finger upon why. Everything she does is just so perfectly acted in a way that makes you feel really uncomfertable. Just watch this trailer for it, seriously. Even the little bits of her you see in the trailer without context is disturbing.

General Discussion » If you could ask Screened.com a question, what would it be?

Will you guys be implementing some kind of weekly or bi-weekly community  spotlight to outline some of our hardwork, because without us YOU ARE NOTHING!

Well you would still be a pretty entertaining site about movies actually.

@Balls said:
I guess I just don't consider it all that strange. I understand that it's kind of icky but it's not terribly uncommon. Maybe it's a cultural thing? "
I feel like this statement is somehow racist to the Germans and the Irish, but I can't for the life of me work out how.

General Discussion » Movie or Film?

I use the word movie when I'm speaking out loud, however I noticed that while editing screened pages I tend to use both words about equally just so that the word movie doesn't appear three times in one sentence.

General Discussion » Films so bad, you love them

One of my most watched childhood movies probably deserves to go here, that now continues to live on in my heart for nostalgic reasons. The Super Mario Bros. movie. I still watch that film once every year or so and enjoy it no matter what. Its so bad and yet I love the film so dam much. Despite being bad the actual setting of the film was breathtaking to me at the time and was one of the first science fiction movies I watched as a child, showing me the first depiction of a futuristic city that was messed the hell up instead of being all nice and clean and white.
