@Acura_Max said:I would choose something that people are familiar with. Something like The Avengers or The Hunger Games. Then when you have got them hooked, show them some lesser known stuff. I would also recommend Atonement, Hugo and The Raid Redemption if they don't mind violence.Don't do that. People who want to watch those movies already have very easy ways to see them, and can see them with their normal ...

Interesting. While more Avatar is great, they may have made Korra a bit too powerful at this point.SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content.39 more episodes of a fully realized Avatar will need a very powerful villain.

Red commented on staceywi's article Ed Helms goes on Vacation .
Could be good. Glad to see John Francis Daley doing something, too. I only know him from a TV series he was in when he was 14, but that show was so great and he was so great in it I completely trust Vacation in his hands.

Red replied to the topic Midnight Showings - Opening Night on the General Discussion board.
The only midnight showing I've ever been to was for the last Harry Potter movie. I believe I bought my tickets the night before and got there at 9. The line was around the building, but, as I had my ticket, the wait wasn't really necessary. I probably could've arrived an hour and a half later and still gotten seats for me and my friends just fine. Buy the tickets ...

Amazing Spider-man has a very good Stan Lee cameo, but I think Iron Man takes the cake.

Red started the topic Why Unavailable for Download? on the The Newsroom board.
I don't actually have a TV, so I resort to Hulu for the vast majority of my television-watching. Any interesting shows not on Hulu I just buy on iTunes, episode to episode. However, for some reason, The Newsroom isn't available on iTunes, or streaming/download on any legal service I know of. Considering most every HBO show is available on iTunes, I don't understand why Newsroom isn't. Has there been any ...

I actually watched Annie Hall last week. Even though Woody Allen's character is immensely unlikable throughout the majority of the film, I still found it rather enjoyable, and its influence can't be denied. Without it, I doubt we'd have Scrubs, (500) Days of Summer, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I wouldn't call Annie Hall my favorite film by any sense of the word, but I can't help but ...

My problems with Spider-man 3 lie far beyond the dance scene. My brother and I once had a heated debate over whether Spider-man 3 was worse for Spider-man or the prequels were worse for Star Wars. I'm pretty sure we landed on the prequels, but anyone who says Spider-man 3 is half-decent obviously hasn't seen the movie in a long time.

Red replied to the topic So what did everybody think? on the The Newsroom board.
@obscurefan: I felt the same way about Sorkin's writing style, especially in the beginning. His writing style is a lot closer to Sports Night than West Wing or the Social Network in this, but I still found it enjoyable.I really liked the pilot, and it was especially nice to see that it kept Sorkin's lightheartedness and idealism in full swing, which I felt would be hampered by HBO's involvement. I'm ...

I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was a bit corny at times, but I guess that's kind of a good thing considering it's on HBO, wherein it seems everything must be as dark as possible.I don't have HBO, but I'll buy next week's episode, and keep going from there.

Transformers 3: There are like, ten minutes of action wherein pretty much no one is talking, that is pretty good.Twilight series: Michael Sheen is a good actor. I'm actually not sure how much he shows up in the movies, but when he does, I'm sure he's tolerable. I think there are a couple bands I like on the soundtrack, too.The Way Back: There's some pretty scenery in it.

Red commented on femiboy34's blog post Regina Spektor scares me..
I don't especially care for Regina Spektor. I can completely understand why someone would like her, but she's always just been a bit too dull for my tastes.I do know some people who live Regina Spektor, though. They're morons. They aren't even hipsters, they're the wannabe hipsters that want people to both think they're deep and introspective, but also want everyone to know they can have a good time and ...
