General Discussion » Johansson not be in Iron Man 3
Jessica Chastain is a marked upgrade in the acting category, so I can't complain.

I have to say that I really enjoy supercuts, especially the ones that come from Youtube user HatInHand. This is a pretty rad (if frenetic) look at some of the better action sequences of the past decade. Enjoy!

Simple question. Would like to know if there's a review for this going up sometime this weekend, or next week, or something. I figure this movie needs all the exposure it can get,
Hey, sorry I didn't see this until now. There is a theater playing The Raid near me, and I definitely want to see it, but I might not be able to get to it this weekend. If I do check it out, though, I'll definitely write a review.
I've heard amazing things about it.
@super2j: Sorry, 21 Jump Street came out during a time when I wasn't yet signed up to work for BermanBraun, so I wasn't going to get paid to see it. Sorry about that! Hope it was good if you tracked it down.

@gangly: It's mostly that the studios are producing special rental-only discs specifically for services like netflix and redbox. Sometimes they'll even be labelled as such right on the disc itself. They strip out special features, sometimes even putting in extra trailers. I've even seen them strip out subtitles, which is the WORST when you have hard of hearing family members.
Yeah, this is basically the situation. I've also noticed the missing subtitles, which I'm surprised a studio hasn't been sued over yet. That's less of a "feature" than a requirement for a good number of audience members.
I mean, I like watching Netflix discs and all, but sometimes I would rent movies I'd already seen just to listen to the commentary track. I don't think I've seen a rental disc with a commentary on it for a year or two, now, though, aside perhaps from smaller indie films. It's a shame as they've often not only been insightful as to the specifics of the making of the actual film, but also often given some new light to my overall knowledge of filmmaking in the best cases.
It's a shame, largely because I'm not much of a movie-buyer nowadays and thus rarely get to listen to commentary tracks at all. I would love to hear the track for something like Silent House, but, alas, that appears unlikely to happen.
Thanks for the concern guys. All I can really say at the moment is that I'm getting paid to write, which is my goal in life! Plus I get to work from home every day, which is a mixture of awesome and incredible, even if it is tempting to just set stories to auto-publish in the morning and sleep until noon and play SW: The Old Republic while looking for news. Not that I do any of that.
There's a lot of talk going on behind the scenes, but, alas, there isn't much I can really say at this point. Hopefully there'll be news soon. I will be posting it here when I can talk about it!
Alright, I cave! I'll try to record some version of Ramblin' Rorie tonight or tomorrow and post something. It might not be on the homepage, but I'll make sure I link it here.
I don't have any equipment to record a podcast with, no mixer, no mic, and no one who I could really record it with. Joey is employed by BermanBraun, but he's mostly working with Tested now. We'll see if we can get a podcast going again at some point in the future, but for the moment I can't say when that would transpire.

Matt Rorie if you don't give us some wonderful news soon I'm afraid something similar to the movie Misery will happen to you. We all love you!!
Heh, well, I'm still waiting on some kind of long-term word. I apologize for being so vague, but I get the sense that BermanBraun is pretty busy at the moment. For now all I can do is put up a bunch of stories every day.

Are you still planning on putting up a statement about the future of Screened and yourself at Screened sometime soon? Does your BermanBraun contact realize that we actually know more about the future of AnimeVice than we do about Screened at this point? Do they get that its kind of a big deal to the people in the community to have some sort of transparency? Not trying to get on your case about this as I know YOU know, but do the BermanBraun people realize that we are still left hanging here?
The person who I've been talking to about all this has been traveling, unfortunately. Hopefully I'll be able to post something in the next couple of days.
This is kind of great, and it's apparently the official DVD release, too. Stolen from Reddit.
Plus the supposed cost of John Carter was apparently as much as $350 million in real dollars, not even including the marketing budget. We'll see how much money it makes before it fades away.
Most of the "bomb" calculations don't consider home video, anyway. It's all in what a film can do at the box office.

Alright, so, I'm going to start posting stuff again to the homepage. My BermanBraun contact is on a plane out of the way of the internet, so I'm waiting to know what I can tell you guys about my situation, but I honestly feel it's a best-case scenario for everyone involved. I'll have more news soon, but for now, let's all look forward to getting back to business!
Fucking a dude, expect to see my terrible posting here more often.
Great!

Podcast this week if possible?
Would love some normality after a crazy week!
It's unlikely that we're going to be podcasting in the near future, if for no other reason than I simply don't have any kind of equipment for it.
This is really getting annoying.
