Top Five "Out of Fucking No where!" Moments in film
If the title doesn't explain than I will elaborate. Every once and a while in movies something happens that isn't set up and slams the audience to the back of their chairs. The contents of the list should help as well.
1. Moonraker

Usually Q gives all of the gadgets Bond will use in a film in a single scene. However in Moonraker, which I argue is the second worst Bond film, Bond somehow gets a hover gondola. That's right a hover gondola complete with it's own chase scene.

2. Meet Joe Black

Not only does Brad Pitt's character at the end of this film get hit by one car but is then hit by yet another. I think the filmmakers were going for shock but only got laughs. Watch this scene on Youtube, it's the definition of "out of fucking no where."

3. Funny Games U.S.

I haven't seen the original yet but this film is ruff. It's defining scene is an out of no where type scene and will either make you say this film is bullshit or spectacular. Those who have scene this film know what I'm talking about.

4. Pulp Fiction

"Oh man, I shot Marvin in the face."

5. Serenity

This one is perhaps the most tragic. Whedon knows how to make us care and then rip our hearts out and we keeping asking him for more.

Marvin getting shot in the face is one of the funniest movie scenes of all time. And it did indeed come out of fucking no where.

Moonraker is a whole bag of WTF.

Deep Blue Sea: Bad movie but definitely has a major "out of fucking nowhere moment". Good call on Serenity; that was rather heartbreaking.

The Serenity moment was heartbreaking. Joss doing what Joss does. I love his stuff just like I love the A Song of Ice and Fire trilogy by George RR Martin, you have no idea whats going to happen.

I honestly think Brad Pitt getting hit by two cars in that scene is supposed to be at least a little bit funny, and shocking, so it did it's job for me.  It's a strange movie, one of those where you can't really decide whether you like it or not.  Maybe the whole tone was just too odd, I didn't know what to expect, and afterward I didn't know what to think.

The scene you're talking about is present in both films, as I understand it.

that scene in spiderwick where the kid's dad comes in and he stabs him.  it turns out its a shapeshifting monster, but it is a real shock.

The is a great moment in The Proposition, in fact you get two in a row. I won't say what as it will spoil it if you have not seen it.
