1. Primer
My head is still being scrapped out of the gutter after watching this film. The ideas and concepts put forward in this film is perhaps one of the most interesting and unique looks at the real world consequences of time travel. This is a film you want to watch over and over. |

2. Twelve Monkeys
As my first Terry Gilliam film I have been enraptured by anything this visually stunning director will put out there. The film also has an interesting take on the ramification of time travel and the possibility that abstract concepts like destiny and fate can factor into the science of traveling through time. |

3. Doctor Who
This is the TV movie they made in 1996 but this spot in the list is more reserved for the legacy of the show that has been running for nearly a half century. The Doctor is a classic character that is filled with boyish wonder and a deep sadness at the same time. It feels like the Doctor doesn't just travel through time for adventure but to find himself in the larger world. |

4. The Time Machine
The orginail Time Machine is one of those classic adventure films from the late 50's early 60's that has nearly been forgotten by a lot of people. The film is filled with some needless narration and cheesey creatures but as a kid they scared the crap out of me so much so that to this day the film still makes my skin crawl. |

5. Flight of the Navigator
This is another film I grew up on. Looking back it's not that great but as a kid the idea of flying your own spaceship was too much to resist. The time travel aspects of the film are not that big of a focus but the charm of the film is something to be reckoned with. |
