I recently (a few months ago) saw Predator in theater*, and seriously enjoyed the heck out if it! Just saw it for the second time, so I guess I'm part of the reason it's doing well in New Zealand :). The reason it was NZ's largest opening was probably because it opened on a public holiday (Anzac Day) on Wednesday.Yeah, it's pretty great. New Zealand here: Lion King is NZ$11.50 2D, and $14.50 3D, less $1 if you kept the glasses (Multply by 0.8 +- 0.1 for US$ depending on what day of the week it is....) So yeah - not really a new thing at all. But since 3D is still terrible, I couldn't care less what they do to 3D prices.

Basil Poledouris was legendary. His Conan the Barbarian soundtrack in particular is astounding. Also, I love Paul Verhoven. So RoboCop is pretty awesome.

Not that I mind Pony (far from it!), but it's starting to look like it's following me around now. I hear Lauren Faust's been put onto another old Hasbro property (though I can't remember what), so I wonder if that will get any brony love - but I haven't seen any PPG or Foster's interest recently.
