I used to visit Screened every day, but it was almost entirely for the video content and the podcast. And while their written coverage was always more or less run-of-the-mill movie/tv news (what's on tonight, upcoming shows, etc.) it was always written with personality and humor.But since the transition, Screened has been providing absolutely nothing that I can't get by setting up some Google blog alerts for generic keywords.Giant Bomb ...

The show should be about Peter Stomare and William H. Macy's characters ending up as cellmates in prison, in a sort of Schillinger/Beecher relationship.

I thought it was a really good couple hours of TV. There were some great acting/character moments. My favorite was when Pete walks into the break room with Peggy holding Joan's baby - there's an ever-so-brief look of horror on his face, followed by the two of them standing there awkwardly. It didn't have much to do with the plot, but I thought it was one of many well played moments.

Good movie, definitely. But watching the clips in this video, it's amazing how poorly CGI ages. I remember thinking that everything in the movie looked pretty much photorealistic when I saw it in the theater. Now...not so much.

Netflix Rebounds From Subscriber Loss, But Still Wants Out Of The DVD-By-Mail Business.
Instant watch is a pretty good deal, if only for the fairly large catalog of TV shows available on it, which will keep me occupied indefinitely. I was happy to give up DVD rentals, because there's an awesome video store a short walk from my house (Four Star Video in Bernal Heights, San Francisco - check it out if you live nearby).
