Here's a wrap up of the recent movies (and since now Screened has TV Wiki) and TV shows I've bought/watched, with a little commentary. These are the movies and TV shows I've watched during from August 14th to September 1st... Movies on DVDs/BDs
My Mom's New Boyfriend (2008)
Cost: $3
DVD
As an actor I don't mind
Antonio Banderas, I even remember enjoying the
Zorro movies a lot! I am a fan of dance-themed movies and I enjoyed
Take the Lead a lot. Meg Ryan is also a great actress who I favor for
Anastasia, my favorite non-Disney animated film. This movie though, was a complete disappointment for me. I don't know if it was the story or the acting or what, but Banderas playing an agent of the CIA playing a criminal dating the mother of an FBI agent in a comedy was not appealing at all for me. I'm not saying it was a bad movie, it was just there!

Reaction: What Was I Thinking?!?!
Spider-Man 3 (2007) Cost: No Cost (Watched it at work)
DVD
So at work I watched part of this movie, along side
Darth Maul and
Tinker Bell (
Not kidding!) and I remember that when this movie came out in theaters I watched three times and enjoyed them all... What was I thinking!?!? This is a really bad movie, a horrible comic book movie with really bad acting, bad dance numbers and good effects! I am surprised at myself for writing these things about a
Spider-Man-related topic, but man was it hard not to criticize. Positive though was getting to see my favorite comic book character (
Gwen Stacy) translated into the big screen by
Bryce Dallas Howard. I think either Screened has made me over-analyze every movie I watch or I just didn't pay attention before.

2.5 out of 5 The King of Queens Season 1 (1998) Cost: $10 (
$20 for both season 1 & 2 but I haven't finished 2nd Season)
DVD
I love this series a lot, it's one of my favorite sitcoms (Favorite being
Friends) but I realized that the episodes I watched and ended up falling in love with were the more recent season rather than the original. From the mystery of WTF! happened to Carrie's sister and the broad sexual comedy this season is a lot of fun, but I think I enjoy the recent seasons more so than the first. Still this is a series I always recommend, especially because it makes you believe that a guy like
Kevin James can get a woman like
Leah Remini as his wife.

Bender: "PARTY!"
Futurama Season 6 Episodes 1 (2010)Comedy Central
For a while now I've been trying to catch up to this season. To be honest I never watched Futurama before in in my life. It was canceled so I though what was the point. When it was announced that the series was coming back I decided (after a lot of people told me to) to catch up on the series, so for the last 2 months I watched the first 5 seasons of Futurama, and finally got the chance of watching the 6th season's first episode. At first it sounded like the voice actors changed, but I am guessing I was hallucinating or something. Robot and deaths are confusing factors in this series but the comedy never stops, and when Bender is programed to Party for a whole episode the you know this will be fun! I loved the episode!

I regret it!
The Last Airbender (2010) Cost: $5
Boy do I regret watching this movie! I am a huge fan of the
Avatar: The Last Airbender series and like all of those who read the book then watch the movie, by the end you have some complaints. Well I had more complaints than the complaint box at Avon!
M Night Shyamalan has lost his sense of movie-making completely. Not only that but I had to endure the movie with bad Dubbing into Spanish because there were no screenings in English! I will admit that the movie had great CGI scenes with all the elements but the whole movie's pace was so slow that even the climatic event of the movie was horribly dull for my taste. The acting was not bad at all but the story was horrible and did not follow the series for the exception of the first 10 minutes of the movie. I thought I was able to get past all of the things that were going to be changes and that I knew was going to be changed but in no way that was possible!

1 out of 5 So that's all I've been watching... With a total of $18 (
not including popcorn) spent.
I hope you guys enjoyed this, tell me what you think and if you agree or not.
Side Note: I don't think I've mentioned this here on Screened but I work at Disneyland as a sign language interpreter of the shows and parades. Since in October we are getting new shows and parades I have to watch all these Disney movies to help me "train" for the roles I will be playing...
Let me warn you: My next show is called
Disney Channel Rocks! So I will be watching:
High School Musical, Hannah Montana Forever,
Starstruck, Cheetah Girls 2, Cheetah Girls One World, Hatching Pete,
Princess Protection Program, Camp Rock, Camp Rock 2, Jump In, Shake It Up, Jonas and Sonny with a Chance. So I am warning you from now that the next Wrap Up will be Disney Channel-related (ugh!)... So I will be bashing on Disney Channel films a lot next time I do a wrap up!
Please feel bad for me! (
On the positive side of things the other show I will be performing will be Aladdin so i have to watch Aladdin!)
