No sure about other actors to portray Aang and the the rest of the gang and before you ask why Cumberbatch I watched the Star Trek Into Darkness trailer and he sounded menacing as hell also he is voice Smug in one of the Hobbit movies so that counts and dont worry its based on the first season of the show so you will only see him at the very end of the movie voice only and no face.

The Bad
1. The first hour of the movie borders on insufferable, the set up is not interesting and it just goes on and on and on.
2. Sam Worthington fucking sucks.as an actor. he is so dull and emotionalisms and just sounds bored half the time.
3. Jake becoming the super bad-ass Avatar, not earned, it required no effort and he earned the Na'vi's forgiveness to quickly.and easily
4. Shoves its anti colonial message down your throat
5. Most humans are sniveling jackasses
The Good
1. Sigourney Weaver is excellent in the movie, and Zoe Saldana performance as Neytiri is really well done.
2. Stephan Lang plays the evil general well and is hamming it up big time. Giovanni Ribisi also play's the evil corporate bastard quite well.
3. Middle part of the film is much better, and the last part of the film is amazing
4. Really good build for some Human VS Na'vi action and it looks great
I am not sure what to say about the story because admittedly it is completely unoriginal and the story is way to black and white and it would benefit the story greatly if it was shades of gray . But at the same time it works to help you be emotionally attached to the Na'vi
Despite all it flaws its still a decent film, and it is worth watching once
