You know, I can't wait for this. It looks as fucked up as I want a Cronenberg movie to be, and maybe Rob is going to be good. I think my favorite part about this is picturing the look on the faces of hardcore Twilight fans as they watched Pattinson blow a hole through his hand.

@Mr_skeleton: Indeed. The marketing has been awful, but after looking past the marketing and into the production (who was writing and directing mainly), I began to hold out hope. It looks like an old fashioned blockbuster from this clip, which is something I don't see enough in theaters now (on that note, "Tintin" was the most fun I've had in a theater in a long LONG time).

To be honest, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It has no Mars action, and it's almost all new footage.

John Carter. I know the marketing has been awful (when the best trailer for your movie is a fan edit on YouTube, you've fucked up), but after hearing critics talk about the movie, I'm excited. As if Andrew Stanton wasn't enough, I'm curious to see how well Pixar does with live-action CGI (I'm a bit of a whore when it comes to the history of visual effects).

Call me a sucker, but I'm kind of looking forward to this. I have an IMAX Theater locally, and with Pixar on digital effects for the first time on a live action film, I'm excited. Only thing that looks iffy is Taylor Kitsch. I'm kind of hoping it does well, but I know it'll be a bomb ($300 million budget roughly, enough said).

I think I'm the only one who actually kind of enjoyed the book. I don't agree with its message, but I found the story interesting. That being said...When I saw the trailer for Part 1, a bit of me died inside. If someone's going to adapt "Atlas Shrugged", here's an idea:1. Get HBO and their writers to adapt it and cast it AND DO IT AS A MINISERIES2. FOR THE ...

The most obvious gap in films I can think of is "Fantasia" (1940) and "Fantasia 2000", a gap of roughly 60 years (probably 59, but whatever). Also, that 60 years was NOT worth the wait (2000 only had one amazing segment, "Rhapsody in Blue", rest of them were really mediocre).

The Eight Wonder of the World (for films): There are probably millions of people who have never seen the original 1933 King Kong. But they've (at the very least) heard of it. The iconic scenes of the log being tossed down the ravine, Kong fighting a T-Rex, and the climbing of the Empire State Building have become permanently burned into the film community as a collective. And with good reason. Because Kong is one of the greatest films ...

I just watched this the other day with my girlfriend and I (somehow) forgot how goddamn brutal "Akira" really is. When I checked last time, they were trying to make this PG-13. Casting Garret Hetlund isn't the best idea, white washing it is annoying, but for the love of fucking god, don't make it PG-13.If I'm going to sit through a shitty American remake, I might as well get to ...

I remember when I tried to watch this film for the first time. It scared the fucking hell out of me, I only made it to the scene where the dog transformed before I screamed at my dad to turn it off.It was only after watching a documentary on the visual effects that I could ever watch the film from start to finish ever again. And even then when I ...

I've only seen the Director's Cut and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've never seen the Theatrical, mostly on the grounds that my dad was shocked by how much better he thought the Director's Cut was than the Theatrical cut.But in any case, this is an interesting sci-fi indeed. I do love how this film is remembered (mostly) for its use of CG during the "water tentacle" scene, yet the mechanical arm ...

Contributed to "The Lion King" in 3D's box office gross this weekend. Me and 8 other friends. Seriously, seeing that intro scene was almost worth the price of admission alone. I forgot how amazing Hans Zimmer's score is for that film (he doesn't get nearly enough credit in that film).

@snake_runner: Same here. I haven't even seen the 3rd Transformers, and I'm not going to until the RiffTrax comes out for it.

If you've read Hunter S. Thompson, you have to read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This isn't a law, but it's the way the universe works. Now, there are 2 kinds of people who read this book: 1. Dumbass motherfuckers that think that Hunter is a beast for doing drugs 2. People that understand that Hunter was trying to mock the American Dream's ideals and point out the flaws in the ...
