Sincerely attempting to see one new movie a week now, and have done so four weeks in a row. Hopefully this broadens my horizons a bit more beyond the critically-acclaimed things I tend to stick to.

I would pay more money for just about anything featuring The Rock, no matter how bad it is, over another bad Ghost Rider film featuring the almost-always-terrible Nicolas Cage. The biggest injustice I see this week is Arrietty at #8, which was my weekend movie this weekend. I thought it was kinda bad, but compared to the rest of this dreck it should be #1.

I think I'm really going to love this film. Enjoyed the trailers quite a bit. My think about Ghibli films that I've seen (Spirited Away, Mononoke, Nausicaa) is that I love their art and animation, but really don't like their stories or characters, so an adaptation of a Western work sounds aces to me. @Artie: Peter Parker may be awkward and poor with words, but it's well-established that Spider-Man is not; he's always ready with a quip.The problem is, quips from Spider-Man sounded terrible coming out of Tobey Maguire (and there weren't even that many).The trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has pretty much already bested the entire trilogy in this regard from the carjacker scene alone.

My favorite part of this film is when Spidey's powers don't work because he's emotionally confused. Oh I'm sorry, I meant that is completely weak and terrible. Along with most other parts of Spider-Man 2 and 3.

@Napalm Pretty sure he was talking about Green Lantern, not Drive. Also, I can take people not getting or liking Drive (though it was my favorite of 2011), but seeing what they prefer over it is a way to get a good reading on taste. I work with a girl who loved The Change-Up and thought Drive was awful. Think about that.
