I haven't read the books, but I didn't feel mystified by details like the sponsor balloons or the District 11 riot. I'm fully open to the idea that there are things I missed about the story, but I wasn't sitting there thinking "man, should have read the book." It makes me wonder about show vs. tell, and holding audiences' hands.I think some of the laugh-out-loud irony that Rorie is talking ...

Somwhow, I don't think they're terribly concerned with the literary definition of "parody."

I'm on board for Ringer. Gellar herself described it as a cross between Buffy and Cruel Intentions. I'm intrigued.
