So I recently read a review in a danish newspaper regarding the Grindhouse-flick Hobo with a Shotgun. The reviewer gave it a very lousy review, and fair enough, it's subjective, but his only point in the very short review was, that because the movie was released so close to bombing and shooting in Norway, it was impossible to enjoy.

I regard it as very unprofessional, for a movie reviewer to be blinded by his or her own politics, when doing their job. Some might argue that he missed the point of the movie, just because he was repulsed by the violence. Others might even say he used the events in Norway as an excuse to express his dissatisfaction with graphic violence in movies. But I digress.

Am I alone in this? Is it fair to review movies based on events?
