This weekend (April 13-15), Titanic passed the two billion dollar mark in worldwide grosses from ticket sales. Only one other film has done this before--Avatar. Both of these movies were directed by James Cameron. Titanic made more money when one adjusts for inflation. Each film has had one rerelease to date.
