@Deusoma: I like that idea a lot... make it also about him coming to terms with his age. I have more detailed notes that I've been outlining since the idea popped into my head, I just feel like I need to come up with a more concrete plot.

My wife watches Parenthood and for that kind of show, it's actually not that bad. The writing and acting are pretty decent and, if I remember correctly, it's from the Friday Night Lights people, which is a great show.
