Here's some news that really perked up my day. Paramount is going to re-release Raiders of the Lost Ark in IMAX, both the huge 70mm theatres along with the digital IMAX theatres (or LieMax as people call it, I hate that though) for one week only; September 7th to 13th. Of course this is being done to drum up interest in the box set they're releasing on Blu-Ray the week after, but honestly, rather see Raiders on the big screen than buy the Blu-Ray. I already have them on DVD and I don't want to own Kingdom of Crystal Skull!

Spielberg himself is overseeing the restoration, which is coming from the original 70mm film prints they had back then and not the 35mm ones. Though I imagine overseeing is just Spielberg watching the movie on the big screen and giving the okay. Good news is that the movie is NOT getting updated visuals or anything changed like the route Lucas took.

With that news and the release of Jaws on Blu-Ray this week, I'm feeling a little spoiled with Spielberg nostalgia.

I've seen Raiders of the Lost Ark that was projected on a digital screen and it didn't look too bad. Then again, this movie is made for the biggest screen possible.

Count me in! Especially since Spielberg will be doing it himself that makes me feel safe from Lucas' grubbing little hands.

I haven't seen the Indy movies in a long time, so long that my memory of them is pretty foggy, so this would be a cool way to re-experience one of them!

I hope there is going to be a screening that is close to me. I would go see that in a heart beat.
