John Rambo is living in Thailand on the Burmese Border where a civil war is erupting. John reluctantly takes a missionary group across the border; where he defends them against an attack from the Burmese military. But John receives word that the missionaries were attacked again, and must save them.

Trivia:

In many countries, the first installment, First Blood (1982) was re-titled "Rambo", so the title for the fourth installment had to be changed accordingly. In several countries, including France and Germany, the film is called "John Rambo." In Russia, the film is called "Rambo 4."
