Johann Schmidt is a weapons manufacture for the Nazis during WWII.

He is Hitlers head of Advanced Weaponry working with Arnim Zola to create super weapons for the Nazis. He is also the leader of HYDRA a terrorist organization bent on world domination. Eventually he works to create a copy of the Super Soldier Serum and has it used on himself.

The serum only brings out ones inner strength turning this already ruthless evil man into the Red Skull.

The serum is only one of Schmidts plans as he his is looking to get the relaity warping cosmic cube and use its powers to try and take over the world.

Reveal of Red Skull

Schmidt will battle the allied forces and Captain America in the up coming movie Captain America:The First Avenger. In it he will try to capture and use the cosmic cube.

Schmidt is a ruthless man bent on world domination. He is willing to go to whatever measure needed to ensure he in the end is victorious. This has led to him working with the Nazis and HYDRA.
