i'd like to check out the 90's one but somehow the 2007 film completely flew under my radar, hadn't even heard of it till now, after seeing the few clips here, cant say im too fussed about it
EDIT- my bad it was a 50's film, still fricken old either way
Great/ Awful Movie

He is such a cool dude.
Classic doesn't always mean best. In the case of The Invasion of The Body Snatchers and The Thing the first remakes are simply better films on every mark. The original was good for it's time but it just doesn't hold up well over time and the sappy pro flag waving ending just spoiled it.
I can't say I have as much love for the 94 remakes as Rorie but the Kaufman 78 version is not only the best version but by far holds up better than any of the other versions over time. I also like Nimoy's pivotal speech better because rather than attempting to scare the audience in a classic horror film sense as the Ferrara version does he simply lays out a very logic and convincing argument. Let's face it, Nimoy's character is right on several counts.
Also Kafuman's version does such an excellent job of showing how modern cities strip, depersonalized and depower the individual. Bureaucracy is much the antagonist as the pod people.
Anyway, the 78 version is the best version, and remains terrifying even today. Especially that last shot!
