A classic slasher movie that created the memorable character Freddy and a hugely successful franchise.

*Edit. Apparently this feature already existed. *woosh*
However, I really wish you would have talked more about the actual dream worlds that Freddy made. Which did you prefer? Which movie had the creepier youknowyourinthedreamworld dream-world and which movie had the better youdon'tknowitsadreamworld dream-world?
Also, the new Freddy makeup looks a bit like a burnt Avatar
I am French Canadian and I have no fucking clue what you're talking about.
Someone of French Canadian descent who traps badgers?
I would love to see more of this feature.
And what is the "idea" of Freddy? My idea and your idea seem to be completely different.
See, my idea of Freddy would not only be a sadistic fuck that kills people in horridly fucked-up ways, but he would use incredibly macabre humor to do some real psychological damage, because it's all a game to him.
Meanwhile, it sounds like your idea of Freddy is bland and just murders a lot. The times that Jackie Earle Haley spewed something resembling a one-liner, it wasn't scary. It was like he was TRYING to be scary. Take for instance the "six more minutes to play" comment Freddy does in this video. That whole thing is Freddy EXPLAINING to someone why they should be scared. Englund's Freddy, on the other hand, just does the shit and tells them "HEY, YOU'RE FUCKED, BUDDY!" Far more satisfying to me.
Therefore, the "idea" of Freddy is completely subjective now that there are essentially two Freddys.
As for the Remake Rematch, I completely agree on all counts, including the endings. Don't get me wrong - that horrid mannequin getting ripped through the door was pretty memorable, but dood, it's NOTHING like the new movie's twist ending. That was gore-a-rific and totally satisfying sadism.
Also, can I say that I still think it's weird that people root on a child molesting murderer like Freddy in movies, going so far as to say "Freddy rules"? I mean, it's just a bit sick, isn't it? Oh well, I love the franchise.
I can't take horror characters seriously with silly, over the top humor.
i guess i like the darker nature more
