That was quite good to say the least. Informative and entertaining at the same time.

I love this feature already, and I haven't even clicked "play" yet.

*Edit. Apparently this feature already existed. *woosh*

Nice! Props to the guy that edited this video. It was well cut, and Alex your points are all solid.

However, I really wish you would have talked more about the actual dream worlds that Freddy made. Which did you prefer? Which movie had the creepier youknowyourinthedreamworld dream-world and which movie had the better youdon'tknowitsadreamworld dream-world?

The new kids are bland and boring, like they have been focus tested to death

Also, the new Freddy makeup looks a bit like a burnt Avatar

Love this feature! Keep up the great work.

Though I enjoyed the remake WAY more than I thought I would, not surprised at all.

"a french canadian badger trapper"

I am French Canadian and I have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

YES! I love this feature!

Disagree with the new vs old Freddy. I think the more sadistic and creepy version is much better suited to the idea of Freddy.

We need more of this feature!!!

The remake may not be a very good movie but that last twist ending scene is pretty fucking cool.

And what is the "idea" of Freddy?  My idea and your idea seem to be completely different.

See, my idea of Freddy would not only be a sadistic fuck that kills people in horridly fucked-up ways, but he would use incredibly macabre humor to do some real psychological damage, because it's all a game to him.

Meanwhile, it sounds like your idea of Freddy is bland and just murders a lot.  The times that Jackie Earle Haley spewed something resembling a one-liner, it wasn't scary.  It was like he was TRYING to be scary.  Take for instance the "six more minutes to play" comment Freddy does in this video.  That whole thing is Freddy EXPLAINING to someone why they should be scared.  Englund's Freddy, on the other hand, just does the shit and tells them "HEY, YOU'RE FUCKED, BUDDY!"  Far more satisfying to me.

Therefore, the "idea" of Freddy is completely subjective now that there are essentially two Freddys.

As for the Remake Rematch, I completely agree on all counts, including the endings.  Don't get me wrong - that horrid mannequin getting ripped through the door was pretty memorable, but dood, it's NOTHING like the new movie's twist ending.  That was gore-a-rific and totally satisfying sadism.

Also, can I say that I still think it's weird that people root on a child molesting murderer like Freddy in movies, going so far as to say "Freddy rules"?  I mean, it's just a bit sick, isn't it?  Oh well, I love the franchise.

I can see the appeal in a cruel sadistic Freddy but the crazy killer with a sense of humor Freddy is my kind of Freddy.
ThePaleKingon Oct. 7, 2010 at 8:42 p.m.
Never cared for the Nightmare On Elm Street films.
Flap_jacksonon Oct. 7, 2010 at 8:46 p.m.
Hot damn the remake's twist-ending kill was awesome. & Gory.

Alex is ALL over the site now that it's October and he's detoxing all those shitty movies out of his system. Nice to see you in front of the camera rather than weeping blood in text form!
VodunValkyrieon Oct. 7, 2010 at 8:54 p.m.
@jakob187: I just prefer my Freddy to be more darker, yet still playing the mind games with his victims. Simply using humor doesn't do the trick for me.

I can't take horror characters seriously with silly, over the top humor.
MrMazzon Oct. 7, 2010 at 9:10 p.m.
I gotta go with the remake its less well funny i mean i love the joke of slasher films that its all about watching the kids dies but i like they tried to give freddy some extra mmph to him. he really was the high point of the movie

i guess i like the darker nature more
