This seems like it was kind of a forgone conclusion from the Screened logo onwards. There was no way I could have seen the remake pulling it out over the original.

Oh my god, that new twist ending is the most amazing thing in the world.

The twist ending in the remake is definitely better, but Englund's Freddy will always be the definitive incarnation.

I completely agree with this entire video. I liked the original but the ending felt too much like Home Alone, and Freddy lost almost all the menace he had garnered throughout that entire movie. Also, there's no way the remake could have topped the Johnny Depp death scene, that kill is probably my favorite death in all of horror movies. I mean it's just so fucked up. ^_^

Yeah that twist ending was great... though the new Freddy looks kinda CG to me for some reason

The ending of the remake just blew my mind.

Johnny Depp really did give new meaning to the phrase "wet the bed"
Monkeyman04on Oct. 8, 2010 at 12:49 a.m.
@EmpGonzo:  don't you mean bled the bed?

Nice feature!

Is being more sadistic a bad thing in a way for Freddy? Thats how I would like him...

Nice video, but I hate horror films. >.<

Very entertaining comparison of these two movies - speaking as someone who hasn't seen the remake yet. I do not like Freddy's design in the remake from what I saw, but other th an that it looks like I'll have fun with it. Looking forward at least to some more high-end gore for sure :)

Nice video but I think horror movies should not even exist. They are all stupid...

That was hilarious and entertaining (and I'm not even a fan of horror movies).

I'd love to see you guys do The Thing v/s The Thing from another world sometime.

Yeah, I think its especially the soft up turned nose as opposed to England's pointy nose is what really wierds me out about the design change.

I liked some of the stuff in the remake but overall it wasn't that great of a film. I'd go with the original too.

@alex: The twist at the end of the remake was fucking awesome.

I saw the first one around 1987. I think it was HBO or something. I was alone at night with only a  six pack of beer to keep me company. Needless to say, I didn't find it funny. Scared the shit out of me. I haven't seen the remake.

I was getting worried for a second while watching this, I like the back story and the way they show how freddy was killed in the remake, but the original had a much better freddy I mean just look at his smile it's so perfect!

Really enjoyable vid, good work.

I always assumed the original Freddy was a child molester, aren't they the people who predominantly murder children in a serial fashion?

Sweet ending to the remake, shame about the rest of it. I think the original still has a more memorable "What the fuck just happened?!" charm to it.
