whichever version wins, the Troy McClure musical version on the Simpsons is still the best.

Help me Dr. Zaius!

The Tim Burton remake is terrible. Carter is terrible in it too

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapes!!!!! You should've heard me talking Joey's ear off about these movies. Love them. Don't judge me.

AlKusanagion Jan. 5, 2012 at 11:43 a.m.

Rematch? More like a savage, one-sided thrashing.

zoozillaon Jan. 5, 2012 at 11:50 a.m.

I remember seeing the original Planet of the Apes at a very young age, and it was pretty intense for a "G"-rated movie.

The scene where the apes round up the humans shocked me at the time. Don't know how it would hold up today.

Of course the original kills Burtons, even though the sequels to the original do stretch the fiction a little too far

I've seen either. Don't know why, They always just seemed a little goofy.
CrimsonAvengeron Jan. 5, 2012 at 11:58 a.m.

I don't get why people hate Burton's. I've seen it and the original and I enjoy both. I don't think the 2001 version is as bad as people say it is.

The ending of the Burtons film is more fatefully to the original book, except he land in Paris and not Washington.

I saw the original Planet of the Apes when I was 12 and it really made a mark on me. It's one of the few true science fiction films (see: Silent Running, Logan's Run, and The Omega Man) versus the "futuristic action movies" we get nowadays. I have, and never will, forgive Tim Burton for the war crime he calls Planet of the Apes.

@Pie: Was so about to post that same video. You beat me to it!

@GMan: These movies are amazing, no reason to feel shame!

GMan staff on Jan. 5, 2012 at 12:31 p.m.

@FinalDasa: Things got absurd when I tried explaining the television show from 1974. I have the box set. 14 episodes. 644 minutes!

FinalDasa staff on Jan. 5, 2012 at 12:34 p.m.

@GMan: Oh jeez, you have a problem o.O I've actually never seen a single episode, always been curious if it was any good.

@FinalDasa: Aaaaaaaapes!!

@GMan: Sold.

WHOA!! New title card!

Otherwise another great video. It really is unfair to compare the classic original to the terrible terrible new movie though.

RockinKemosabeon Jan. 5, 2012 at 1:08 p.m.

Even though the Marky Mark version is awful, it has some of the best make-up ever seen in a movie.

Cozmicaztawayon Jan. 5, 2012 at 1:12 p.m.

There was a time when i could say every Tim Burton movie was fantastic, because let's just forget Planet of the Apes ever happened.. then Alice happened...

But yeah, this turned out to be rather what i was expecting.

@Pie: Thanks for posting that. SO GOOD!

Definitely. As bad as it, it's just amazing to look at.
