This 2003 homage to the 1969 classic sees the action shift to LA. The character of Charlie Croker returns, now played by Mark Wahlberg, to lead a new team performing tricks new and old this time in the name of revenge. And millions of dollars worth of gold.

I remember really liking the 2003 version. Not a brilliant work of art or anything, but well done and with a pretty good cast. Never seen the original.

Not a fan of either version

I would argue that modern audiences would understand the soccer references, maybe you should specify American audiences might not.

When Rorie said that I sighed. I think modern audiences would understand the world's most popular sport.

When Myspace goes dark? Hasn't that already happened already?

Also, it seems like the remake always loses in these rematches.

When you say that the original wins "worst hacking" does that mean that it's better or worse? I couldn't really tell...
MrMazzon Jan. 27, 2011 at 7:27 p.m.
I love these but I gotta disagree The original is to goofy for me. The Original is just a fun heist film is it kinda hollow because of it yea. I honestly find the hacking in the remake to be more believable than again tech back in the 70's is a million times different than what we have today.

Myspace isn't dark yet but thats because nobody has turned off the light....yet

Soccer is "dated?" What? It's largely irrelevant to American audiences as a whole, but that's not because Soccer is an old thing. It's not any more or less relevant than it was at the time.
KoolAidon Jan. 27, 2011 at 7:31 p.m.
I don't understand the dated references part.  Do people not play soccer anymore?

Damn... I woulda paid more attention to the last world cup if I knew it was the series finale. =/

The original was always one of those cool movies that came on post midnight when there was nothing else worth watching, still a lot of fun to just sit back & zone out to, the remake is fine also but Rorie certainly hit the nail on the head when he described it as self-serving.

very nice.  You should do  a comparison of the 2 parent traps movies. <- Not kidding, loved that lindsay lohan version.

This was great.  All I can say.

Great Remake Rematch.  Would be cool to see you do a comedy, something like The Pink Panther.
