Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry

This artist’s portrait becomes more a commentary on the state of China today, but in doing so provides deeper context for the worth of contemporary art in the modern world.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Smarter than its premise ever looked on paper, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is genuinely entertaining genre fare. The idea might look dumb, but the seriousness with which it plays out as an actual, non-ironic story is refreshing in its honesty and ultimately more worthy than most will give it credit for.

Act Of Valor

Act of Valor is an excellent action film that's wrapped up in some iffy rhetorical statements.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked

Chipwrecked is a joke-devoid assault of ancient pop culture references and auto-tuned pop music...just like every other Alvin and the Chipmunks movie.

Arthur Christmas

It's overbearing in its celebration of the holiday spirit, but Aardman's trademark goofiness nonetheless shines through in this computer animated spectacle.

A Dangerous Method

Terrific performances from Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensnen anchor this oddly sterile period biopic.

Abduction

With terrible writing, inane action, and plastic acting, this asinine thriller at least offers some measure of "so bad it's good" hilarity.

Apollo 18

This creepy space-horror film can't quite cash in on its premise, but it's still easily recommendable to found-footage fans.

Attack the Block

Attack the Block brings terror and humor back to the moribund monster movie genre in an awesome way.

Atlas Shrugged: Part I

Ayn Rand's writing is turned utterly passionless in this pathetically dull film adaptation.

Arthur

Arthur is a largely unfunny, out-of-touch comedy that is effectively only for Russell Brand fans.

All Good Things

While it could have made an incredible documentary, Andrew Jarecki's true crime tale fumbles hard in the third act.
