So, are you ready for the Scott Pilgrimocalypse this Friday? Can't get enough of that adorable scamp Michael Cera and his chinlessness? Well, then you're probably all set to partake of more Scott Pilgrim media, such as this interesting trailer, featuring the audio and dialogue from the official film trailer set to scenes from the comic book on which it's based. It's fun to see how faithful the film has been to its source material, and it'll be fun to see how much the film will appeal to people beyond the already-reserved-tickets-because-this-movie-has-a-good-soundtrack crowd.

I may just have to go see this movie. It looks like lots of fun.

I saw a preview screening of it last week. I am trying to finish up a little revew-ish thing for it (work makes it kind of hard) and I can say as a rabid fan of the comics that I have zero idea how this movie is going to perform after every Scott Pilgrim fan in the world sees it (so like after the first 3 days). It could really go either way, as the marketing for it has been absolutely relentless, but I'm not sure if it has a whole lot going for it for people who arent already in the Scott Pilgrim/Edgar Wright fan club.

@Dauragon: Never heard of Scott Pilgrim before the trailer, comics are barely even noticed over here, however I am hyped about this after having seeing the trailers and playing much of the upcoming game

Haha, as a big fan of the comics, that was really entertaining to watch. Spot on.

I agree. I am a huge fan of O'Malley's comics (and I love Wright's movies too) and I couldn't be more excited for the movie, but I have no idea how it will play to the non-converted. It has more of an instant "cult classic" vibe than "blockbuster" vibe.

Awesome comic to trailer mashup btw. x]

I really miss the Street Fighter Alpha 3 "KO!" sound in the trailer. I'm hoping it's in the movie, but I'm pretty sure it's not. Other than that, I'm gonna check this out on Friday and see what's up. Hoping it's at least ok.

Gonna go see it, love the director already, yeah the music kicks ass, and I don't mind Michael Cera being Cera (he does grow a backbone it seems) thanks to Arrested Development.

I'm right with you there.  I've never read the Scott Pilgrim comics (I plan to fix that when I've seen the film), but I'm still pumped for this film.  I have been all year!  I think it looks great, and I'm so seeing it opening day with some of my friends.

Then again, I think it's got something for everyone.  For the fans, it's Scott Pilgrim up on the big screen.  For the nerds, it looks like a massive two hour celebration of everything geek.  For the hipsters, there's the soundtrack.  For the girls, it's got Michael Cera.  And for the lads, it's got Michael Cera being punched in the face repeatedly!  Everybody wins!

My worry, is that the majority of mainstream cinema goers just won't get Scott Pilgrim.  And, here in the UK, it's going up against: The Expendables, Tinkerbell (who is slowly turning into a Bratz doll), Salt, Piranha 3D, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid (it's gonna do well, you know it will), Avatar's re-release and... sigh... Marmaduke and Grown Ups.  It's probably gonna go down like a lead balloon.

Then again... I thought Inception would.  And look how that's doing!
