SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE ANIMATION will be premiering, in two parts, on Adult Swim at Midnight on the 12th. It’s a four minute animation that directly adapts a scene from the second volume of Scott Pilgrim (Scott Pilgrim vs The World, from which the movie gets its title) that did not make the cut in the movie. The scene (stills can bee seen below) is about the founding of Scott’s band, Sex Bomb-Omb. The show was produced by Titmouse, who are also responsible for  METALOCALYPSE and GI JOE: RESOLUTE.

This makes me wish that they would adapt all the books into an animated series. Like, three episodes per book, and just make  one season. I'd love that. The animation for these are great and the voices seem to fit so damn well.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty much awesome. Practically word-for-word out of the comics, good animation (or appropriate, or whatever) and I'm surprised by how well the voices fit.
 
I really hope that they adapt the books into an animated series. It might be a little redundant if they cut stuff out, because then it'd be pretty much the movie but in cartoon form, but if they kept everything from the books in the series it would let the plot get more fleshed out.

@Icon: The art is very Gorillaz-esque must be either the same artist or someone similar in taste.

@Mistress_Redhead: The style is exactly like the comic, by Bryan Lee O'Malley, so it's not the same. But I can see how you'd make that comparison.

Oh I was meaning the comic art, I have read a few pages of the comic but not all of it yet :) was simply meaning that it looks similar to some of the art work that the Gorillaz vids use.

I watched the first episode and thought it was poor. It looks very cheap and the animation moves in a motion comic kind of way (not much at all). Michael Cera's voice coming out of comic book style Scott Pilgrim gave me the shakes too, eugh!
